Update...

I've now put on a coat of semi gloss clear varnish...and it's just right.

I'm leaving this overnight, at room temperature, to allow this to cure. It is touch dry, but I have a fear that if I hold it for too long my finger prints will melt it. So no touch !

Tomorrow I hope to unvail the whole model, complete.

This is definitely the most dynamic diorama I've ever seen. Great work mate!

Thanks Fabian,

Why is it that, when it comes to a GB simples things go wrong. Came down this morning and I have orange peel from the varnish.

I'm sanding it down very carefully, and polishing it as I go along.

Still I'm that close and I'm not going to give up.

Not the group build curse again !

I'm sure you can fix it mate, the build is looking really good, the light effect is amazing, I too can't wait to see the reveal

Hi Pete...good to see you (not visually but ..you know what I mean)

Sorted the orange peel and the first fine re-spray is much better.
Once dry just want to add a few very light oil streaks .

Light is good for photography, so in a couple of hours I will start snapping away.

It happens during the GB's becasue so many people are watching so close---its a magnetic field distortion effect that comes through your monitor. Maybe Pete could make you a custom AL hat?

Magnetic field distortion ! That's it I'm going to Brundlecon 1 and switching on the red light

I'm going under the Tinfoil bed sheets and suggest you all do the same

I've got to stop..I'm flapping around touching up this that or the other. If I'm not careful I will end up doing something wrong.

I should be thankful to have got to a point of finalising it.

So everything put away...time to put this together.

I am so bad about taking things too far until I muck something up. I ruined a lot of art pieces that way after I had spent days/weeks working on something. Anxious to see the finals. I think you have built the suspense as well as any movie or TV show!
