Thanks Fabian!

I sorted the insignia with some masking tape and vallejo black grey looks kind of ok. Glad it happened on the underside

Thanks Nigel!

I let it sit for about two days while working on other stuff and it was dry. I have used a similar  technique before but then I painted the entire surface with oils before I made the grain and if I remember correctly it took forever to dry. I also put the oils on a piece of cardboard before applying  them. Don't know if that makes much of a difference but I heard that it should lessen the drying time.

I believe the cardboard soaks up a lot of the oil, I'll bear that in mind as I have some mounted figures I have to do soon, thanks.

Good recovery on that decal...looks just right.

The plane is as good as done. Just some minor clean up left.

The fit was great and haven't had any problems to align the wings or wheel struts.

Not much rigging on this one, used elastic thread from Uschi van der rosten, and made turnbuckles out of stretched cotton swabs . Here's a close up

It isn't a big bird. Comparison with my recently finished viggen

Made a small simple base with a 90x120 mm picture frame, cellu-clay, static grass and fine turf

This is a great kit for someone interested to get in to WWI planes. Not much rigging and near perfect fit makes it an easy build without the pitfalls associated with these kind of build.

Thanks for looking!
