OMG that's one hell of a model. Look at all that PE and resin.... and just a few decals. A nice easy WWII plane... have a look at Eduards Spitfire Mk IXc or IXe which includes the markings for 1954 Ramat David Air Base version with an aluminum and blue colour scheme. Good luck.

Thanks Nigel. I might have to look that kit up. Though the next kit I make will probably be the p-47 I already have in my stash. Was actually planning on building that after the a-10 I was building till I decided to join the group build. Have all the paints and everything for it. Though new shiny can pop up, and distract. lol. Yeah it does look really nice. Figured I wanted to get a kit that should just fit after all the trouble I had with the a-10. Also figured it would be neat to have the thunderbolt and the thunderbolt II . Looked up that spitfire, and I think that's going to be the next kit I pick up. Looks really nice. Kenny

Kenny, Seem to remember that Bobby did an in box review of the Mk.IXc in the Royal Class Edition kit. It's the same model as in the ProfiPack. the difference with the IXe is that it comes with 2 sets of wings, the normal rounded tip or the later cut off tip. Either way the detail and fit are superb. Just finishing my night shift and looking forward to my bed (best model I ever bought, lol). Will follow your build, good luck.

Good luck Kenny. I have just cut the first two pieces off for the start of my Da Nang kit...and now looking at the PE ( I have also never used it before either ) so scratching my head looking at the instructions to work out which of the gold non colored PE to put on because that will need spraying before I add the coloured PE.
Good luck..I will set up my thread later tonight.

Good luck Kenny, beautiful looking box of goodies. That stenciling will keep you busy for a while.

Thanks. Yeah was looking at the stencil directions this morning. Looks like it should only take me a week or 2. lol. Just have to find myself a photo etch bending tool, and make sure I have all the paints I need for it. A spitfire may happen to end up in my order though. Kenny

If you are only doing a few bends then you can actually get away with using tweezers or pliers. Google the web for tools that would suit your budget spend. You can even get a PE bending tool made from PE.

Thanks nigel. Will look into that. Something like that would probably be better for how few bends it looks like there will be with the PE that came with this kit. One of the bigger bending tools would be nice, but for a first taste of PE it might be a little bit overkill. Thanks pete. I'm enjoying following your build as well. I'm going to really enjoy building this along with everyone else. Kenny

Hi Kenny If you are interested in getting a PE bending tool then give this site a visit.http://www.scalemodelshop.co.uk Goto the section Accessories, photo-etch bending tools. They have a small Trumpeter Tool that's on sale. It's nice and heavy and comes with bending wedges (so no razor blades). The shop is very helpful and delivers fast.

Thanks for the suggestion nigel. Was ordering paint from sprue brothers and saw that they had the same thing for about the same price. Went ahead and bought that with the paint so save a little on shipping. Also threw in the eduard spitfire because apparently I like to spend all my money. Don't have the biggest stash, but starting to get to the point to where I have enough to keep me out of trouble for a while.

Killing 3 birds with 1 stone, that's the way to do it. All this talk about Spitfires has made me want to start mine (never done one), but I have to be patient I want to finish the 1/12th Cockpit and now that I have a good scriber, finish off my MIG Fulcrum. Good luck with the Phantom build.
