OK, finally made it to cross the finish line gust before the deadline. If you had asked me in october if I would made ist in time, my answer would have been a clear NO. But here we are.
This build was like a rollercoaster ride. I'm very happy with the cockpit generally with the whole building stage, but not so much on the painting side. There is quite a lot things to figure out for me when it comes to airbrushing. And after buying a quite decent airbrush, I can't blame the equipment for the faults any more. So I have to fight my way thtough this. But here are pictures. They are not the best, maybe I'll do some more in daylight conditions, but I waned to keep in time. Final conclusions:This Eduard repack of the Hobbyboss F-14A with the PE, resin and Furball decals was my best investment on a kit up to now! In addition I bought the PE upgrade set and the Brassin F-14 weapons set from Eduard. I only used about 50 % of the additional PE set, but if you show the gun-bay and the airbrakes in the open possition, this set will show it's full potential. The resin weapons are a dream. A modeler with better airbrush skills then me will get even better results. But be carefull when you remove the casting blocks. The tailfins are fragile as hell. And the best for me: In the set came 4 missiles of each (Sidewinder, Sparrow ande Phoenix), so I have a complete loadout for another F-14 left. And this brings me to my wish for 2016: Please Eduard bring out a Limited Edition of the F-14D in the same style as this one! This would be a no-brainer for me. I wish a happy 2016 to all off you and thanks a lot for watching. __________________ Kai

I always loved the sundowner scheme. Mastering an airbrush isn't easy. I go with gunze acrylics and they are by far the most easy to airbrush with. They mix with almost everything except oils and it never dries on the needle and sprays smooth with almost any pressure. Joakim TH

Very Nice I am liking how some of you guys are finishing right at the dead line of the GB Nice work Kai i always loved the old VF-111 squadron markings if that squadron had not been deactivated in the 90's and were still around i try to picture in my head what the super hornet would look like in those marking's.

Great work Kai!!
Sundowners scheme looks awesome, particularly the shark mouth. Can never have too many of those. Your paintwork looks the part. Preshading is nice and your exhausts look a treat. Well done on making the final reveal in time. Regards, Sean __________________ Cheers! Sean (Location - Canberra) ------------------------------------ On the bench - 1/48 Revell F-15E Strike Eagle
