Neil, with what you have done to your model so far this should be a walk in the park. As Mike just told me, take your time. If you need any help just yell, some one somewhere will help you out with sound advice. I've seen great modellers that produce fantastic work, but don't know how to paint a figure.
Its good that you are starting with a large scale.

Edit....just noticed that that is quite a special vehicle for the scale, nice.

Your P40 figure was great Neil. But it looks like you'll be getting more practice in soon enough lol. 1/48 is a tad tricky. Those guys painting them in 1/72 are gonzo good. Pay no attention to those guys lol.  [wink]

Very nice stuff Neil,

The fuel truck is great, there are some lovely vehicles going into the projects on this group build, I'm really excited to see this develop, and don't worry about the figures, as has been mentioned, if you take your time you will be fine buddy

Ok Folks Got some items in the mail yesterday First the Italeri 2010 new tooling of the Opel Blitz 385 Tankwagen YAHOOOO! Couldn't wait to get her started so here are the obligatory sprue shots

Box art as seen before

Sprues

Decals and Frame

So your asking " Wait where's the clear parts?" [confused] EXACTLY  what I said!!!....[frown][mad] So the windows and such are MIA.[bawl] Sent a message to Italeri's customer support[comp] and hopefully they will send the clear sprue.[thumb]

Some close up shots...Check out that grill! and the wheel hubs are not too bad either.

Back of the truck (upside down)

Gearbox (kind of bare) but it is just 1/48 and won't be really all that visible. and the springs(or whatever they are called) ...lol.

Got some flash on things but nothing to bad. Its really a soft plastic, Typical of Italeri?? (my first Italeri kit) so it's really easy to clean up. The fit so far is great but we'll see further into the build how it goes.

You may be asking "Neil, your lighting really looks a lot better than before". Which brings up the second package that arrived. From Amazon.com for just $39.00 The StudioPro2 Desktop photography Lighting set!!

Really nice set for the price. You can also get a photo box and background cloth to go with for 59.00 but chose to get this at a later date. Here is the link if you want to check it out.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L5TGT82/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So enough rambling lets get on with the build!

First up is the frame why it's this color?? no idea lol. Springs, Axels, front end sway bar and gearbox going together.

Front end going together smoothly.

Then the gearbox and rear bar springs? and axel going together and the completed steps on the first page and that's where we stand.

Was quite a lengthy post so I apologize...but thanks for looking.
Cheers!!

Very nice too, like it all. The chasis is prob a different colour as it could be used in different models.
My experience with Italiera, re glass, has been pretty good. They sent me a replacement set of canopies, for my Phantom, after a slight accident in the last Group Build.

It must be pretty hot under those lamps, or are they cool Eco ones.

Can't wait to get home and get back into picking up the glue and paintbrush. I've ordered a couple of Armour models.

Excuse my spelling
Enjoy the build

Thanks Nigel! No these are really cool I've had them on a couple of hours just for that reason and can grasp the bulbs with no problem. Glad to hear they have good customer service.

Looking good Neil (especially the "leaf springs" [wink]), I've built a couple of Italeri's Armour kits and they have both been that colour for some reason (Aviation is grey). No matter when it gets paint on.
Lights are cool, I checked out the packages, some good savings on light boxes etc, if anyone's interested in getting a reasonable set up for a cheap price.
Nice one!
