Don't you love taking of the masking tape?

Hope you guys like it. It's all looking very clean right now but after decaling the weathering fun begins :-)

Cool stuff Fabian, looks oh so fiddly !!
How come you didn't use blue tac instead ?
pre/post shading looks good as does the rotor head !! [smile]

I tried blue tack but couldn't get it in the right shape... to tiny corners. I think it would look better with softer edges but in 1/72 it looks okay.

that is very true, strange how 1/72 can be forgiving in some ways but not others...

an after thought has occurred to me (I've yet to try this Butty butt but [biggrin] )

roll out the blu tac into thin strips and lay it on the masking tape around the edges ?
fiddly I know and now that you've painted it too late...... oh well, perhaps an idea for later ? [biggrin]

Anyhow, still looks cool and once the weathering is done it will look "sheet" hot !!
I never was good at a Mexican accent [smile]

Wow! You're giving me a helo itch. I still have the AH-64D that Pete sent me and man, this is inspiring me to get into it again. Beautiful work, Fabian.

This is incredible Fabian.
I'm sure you appreciate now just how much goes into some of these 1/72 scale kits.
Are you going for the Tiger Decals ?

Thanks Nigel! This 1/72 kit is amazing but to be honest my next kit will probably be 1/32 ;-)
No Tiger for this one. I think it really needs a red star on it!

That's going to look about right. Are the stars pre-faded, can't remember now, or you taking care of that.

Are you on holiday now ?
If you are have a great time my friend.

To be honest I have no idea about the decals. Have to check on them. And not away yet, we will fly Wednesday morning. I'm very excited about the trip, first time Asia. With a little bit of luck I meet up with Dave aka tomcattweeker to check out the lokal hobbyshops in Tokyo :-)

awesome work on the rotor head.  so many different colours used to pick out details and not a drop of paint where its not wanted.
Bravo!
