Hi,

If someone can help me with this,I will really appriciate it.

Usually,I use enamels,so gloss coat is done with Future.
But,now I build Su-27,and got Akan acrylic paint for it,so my question is, can I get away with
coating it with Future?   If I wait long enough for acrilyc to cure,in theory, future will not eat the paint,but...

Thank you in advance for help with this.

Regards,
Ozren

Hi Ozren, I use future over acrylic paints all the time, as you say, just make sure the paint is dry before you apply it and you should be golden

Hi all, First time post and new member. I use vallejo acrylics for my base coats. Nice and flat. When I use Future as a gloss coat prior to weathering with oils I cannot get my pin washes to work. As the surface; although glossy, is not smooth. Do I need to add gloss to my vallejo base coats when I airbrush to help this or is there another method I can try? I am spraying Future at about 20 PSI neat from the bottle, 1 dust coats and two to three heavier coats. Still get a rough textured finish although very shiny.  Any help would be appreciated.

Is the paint going on smooth or is it rough too, the future will only be as smooth as the paint you lay it on to, try polishing the paint with a nail buffer before you apply the future

Hope this helps

Pete,

Thanks for the tip. I was trying to avoid all that extra work of buffing out an entire aircraft before future gloss coat.  Lots of work there.  My paint does have a rough texture, I thought that was how flats worked otherwise they would be gloss.  Anyways, any recomedations to getting smoother base coats with Vallejo. I've hear of people thinning with future. Seems odd to me. I would never have to buy thinner then (ha, ha). But hey, if it works .... Also, as a side note I am using Vallejo model color not model air. Or is it just an airbrush adjustment / distance issue issue. I've followed the videos here to a tee. Same air pressures and everything.

Try reducing your air pressure to about 12psi. The Future may be drying as it hits the surface causing a rough finish instead of leveling.
