How could I not do this.

This is a figure I am doing for someone else, but doing a parallel build for myself.

Do you have a build diary on the Forum or any photographs, would love to see them if you have any?

Have to keep ahead on this paintwork.
I've used a lot of thinned down layers of gold and highlited areas with a silver copper to keep the richness alive.

I've also used a lot of washes, both Citadel and Flory, to get some good tones and shades. The camera really is not doing this justice with the vibrant metals.

Thank you gentlemen, friends.
I'm going to concentrate on my version on this model, as I'm unable to get permission to show the other figure.
For this model I intend to try some new Technical Citadel paints, plus a display base...as opposed to a gaming base.

This shows quite a few coats of Dead White on the wings, which I will highlight with Pure White.

The base I've kept as simple as possible, it will have various washes of purple and greys....and my secret weapon...Earl Gray tea leaves.

For those of you that have never seen Earl Gray Tea leaves, here is what they look like...

So now we have a way of cheaply making a forest floor, with dead leaves...and the smell is wonderful.

...and this is how they look on a base..

As for the taste, and I do like my tea, ....just two spoons of sugar and a slice of lemon.

Let it be so.

Get the tea bags, if you have difficulty in getting some let me know and I'll put some in the post....you'll have to supply your own lemon though.

I have decided to use a spare base for this model, as I think it really deserves it.

Ignoring the Necron refreshed painted figure this will be ideal as a base. As the wings are going to be so wide I need something that can give the figure height, and extentuate the fact that it's flying.

Having thought about this it needs to be a cool colour,, in a slight way, to balance the mass of warm colouring, so I'm thinking of doing something I've never done before and attempt to make it look like green marble....this should be fun.

Well...I think I've done it.

I can't touch this for 24hrs....so will watch the Euro football matches.

I now have to try and remember how I did this...and if I can improve it, or actually do it again!
