That's looking great Wim. And a wash will bring out those details very well. You got some exciting extras on your bench, looking forward to see what you are up to :-)

Cheers Paul, much appreciated.

Ok, weekend so an update.

The cockpit got a wash and some highlighting with both paint and some pigments and was installed in the fuselage. As I suspected, this was a horrible experience. One of the fuselage pieces is a little warped so I had all sorts of problems getting everything to fit. Took me several hours before I could this get this into place. Result is ... this will need some serious filling and sanding ... ah well ... [rolleyes]

Also started with the engine, got a burnt iron coat, took on the torpedos and gave them their first colours.

I don't have a lot of photographs this time as the battery of my camera died on me and I actually spent half a day with getting the cockpit and the fuselage to fit.

Anyway, here goes ...

Cockpit in the first half of the fuselage (this one was the warped one ...

The other half is (more or less) ok ...

Fuselage together with a horrible fit unfortunately...

Some bit and bobs, some things still some retouching but the main work is done.

First bit I will probably use for the dio ...

Thanks for watching everyone!

Cheers,
Wim.

Cheers Ted. Struggle it is ... the seam is really nasty. Also, the panel lines in the neighbourhood of the gap do not match at all. Will need to think this one through thoroughly I guess.

Regarding the cart, it's actually a resin torpedo cart and yes, it has very nice detail, should be a nice addition for the diorama.

Cheers,
Wim.

Indeed Ted, looks a lot like the little cart. I think the base is the same thing.

Wim.

Weekend again, so update.

Was able to do quite a lot, it slowly looks like an aeroplane now. First priming done, finished the torpedo, rotor,  and some bits and bobs.
I am using the closed cockpit as a mask, used only a little pva glue so it should come off nicely. Just got word that the vacuform cockpit will be arrive this week so something to look forward to. I still want to have an open cockpit.

Next week will see the metal coat and maybe even the first correct colours. We'll see how it goes.

Some pictures in no particular order...

Thanks for watching!
Wim.
