This kit is fighting me ALL the way.....

Well, I should say this decals....

The kit is VERY good, the fit is great, the recessed panel lines are superb the details are very good, the only problem with it are the ejector pins, all over the place!!!

As for the decals, well that is another story. I was warned that the decals were very old, but me in my infinite wisdom decided to use them, and this is the result.....

They cracked, wrinkled sheared, you name it!!!!

One of the star and bars decals on my wing, the upside, was VERY wrinkled, so I tried the light sanding technique, but I ended up going through the decal....
So I decided to spray them!!!!!

Started on the down side of the wing, so if something went wrong it would somewhat hidden...

I copied the decals on to some labeling paper and cut them with my trusty nÂș11 scalpel blade.

then I started spraying the blue (my one mix to mach the color in the others decals) then the red, the underside was withe already....

I liked the result, so I stared working onthe other decals that I sanded off....

Here is one RARE example of a decal that actually went on without trouble!!!

The withe is a bit off, but I'll try to fix that with some "cleaver" weathering.
The one on the other side went on ok too!!! And thank GOD for that because I don't know how I would fix that......

More soon, hopefully with some weathering......

Cheers!!!!

Thanks guys!!!

Unfortunately this one is fighting  me all the way!!!! I think the decals have put me behind schedule for about 2-3 weeks!!!!
I'm starting to think that I'm not gonna make the deadline!!!!

Let's do some more masking and spraying....

Ok, I REALLY needed a break from de decals, so I got going with the bang seat.

I did some scratch with aluminium foil and some wire. Nothing special, but better than the stock one.

Sorry forgot to take a before pic. But you can see what I changed....

Hope I can still make this in time.

I've never missed a GB, and I don't want to start now!!!!

Cheers!!!

Tex, are you going to get this bad boy done for the GB? With all you've been through with these decals (and your lovely recovery work) would love to see this in the final reveals.

Regards,

Sean
