Really looking good Bob! Fantastic work on the cockpit - I can only echo what others have said, a step-by-step with a aftermarket resin goodies would be a really good tutorial. I for one am really hesitant about doing anything with resin - seems like a black art to me!

Keep up the good work!

Cheers Andy

I have already picked out the next step by step which its focus is mass photo etch, but the one after that has resin resin so will focus on that for you.

thanks bob

I used Aqueous hobby color H308 (FS36375) for the under side and did 4 layers of bleaching as well as 3 layers of post-shading for the Tomcat, Just need to let this dry now.

Looking stunning Bob that distressed and heavily weathered look starting to take shape. Mine is still biting back more filling and sanding to do might start my F-14B that arrived yesterday from Boystown if this one refuses to lie down. Look forward to next update

Bobby, this is looking amazing !
Why are the screens in the jet intakes lowered ?
I thought that happened only at supersonic speed . . .

No reason really, the instructions only gave the option to have them in the lowered position.

Beautiful paintwork sir!!      Just curious if given a choice would you rather use Vallejo Model Air or the Mr Hobby Auqeous paints??    I find the model air paints are pretty good as long as you give them proper drying time.    Ive read on other sites the mr hobby aqueous colors also take long to dry but end up really hard as in not fragile at all..

Since it seems you use both quite a bit just wondering your opinion..

thanks

Well vallejo are nice and easy to use as well as they dry in minutes which I like plus they are less toxic, Mr Hobby gives you the best finish of most paints but smell toxic like enamels and they take hours to dry.

As for best matching color for a F-14 the Mr Hobby color are the best, which hopefully you can see.

Looking amazing Bob some excellent airbrush work mate. Think I must be old fashioned as have never really adapted to acrylics used to use Gunze years ago but found it and Humbrol maskol did not get on well when maskol bonded to paintwork and would not come off Vallejo very fragile now back to using enamels with cellulose thinners Humbrol dries as quick as acrylic and xtracolor enamel about 3 hours instead of days! Ok not the most enviromentally friendly thinner but gives nice smooth finish
