Hey Ian, absolutely stunning, not only the Ship, she is beautiful, but at sea as well !!= fantastic. Being a Merchant Seaman for 20 odd years this brings a tear to my eye, well done. I am also progressing the HMS Illustrious Airfix 1:350, and I can see right now that you have knocked my effort out of the park.  I like your weathering and realism which is making me want to try some of the same - I have not progressed to weathering yet (a bit sad after on n off modelling for 40 odd years!!!!) but this is great. Will you be mounting your future models this way, whatever they may be? Your description of how you mounted the base is very good and clear.
Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Phil

Thanks yet again for the kind comments guys.

I am glad you like it Phil.  I also have Airfix's 1/350 HMS Illustrious but I didn't have the bottle to do it as my first ship kit thats why I went for this scale first.  My brother in-law has the model now as he served on the HMS Illustrious for a few years and I thought it was right he had it.  As I have said earlier the sea was quite easy and cheap to do.  For my next ship I will do a photo build for the kit and show you how I do the sea, so you can give it a go.
