Good afternoon gents.
Here is my entry in GB 2015 II
It's the very nice Hobby Boss Corsair that I've had on my to-do list since I added it to the stash some months ago.
This will be OOB as I think it looks pretty cool as is and it also looks like it will build up fairly nicely.

Anyway, the pics. And we're away.

Hat is in the ring! [wink]

Thanks Thomas, I'm slowly getting the engine running. lol
Still a bit cold here and reverse acclimatising after a few weeks in the tropics is testing me.
In fact, being home at all is testing me. lol

Gday Simon! Looking forward to your work on this one. I just love HB kits in this scale. Detail is exquisite and a shedload of weapons. Get at it!!!!

Cheers!

Ok the update. Cockpit not finished yet. Wheel wells, intake and exhaust underway. Once all these are done I can put the fuselage halves together. So I don't think this is going to be an overly complicated build initially. It does have lots of weapons and detail so I might eat my words yet. lol

The story so far.

The Ejector seat was pretty plain so I added the belts and grab handle. Not going for accuracy either guys so don't have a conniption if it's not right. lol

The cockpit. Still plenty to do there yet.

The engine exhaust and intake incorporating part of the front wheel well.

The main wheel well and the other part of the front. All of these parts are just primed in Vallego white at this stage.

Anyway. Not much but just enough to get my fingers twitching again. Can't wait to see this one come together actually. I think it's going to be very pretty. lol

I finally got to use an item I picked up at a garage sale a while back. A self-heating gravy boat is perfect for keeping your decaling water tepid for those long stencil sessions. Lol check them out if you feel the need, they work fast. Can warm cold water in a couple of mins and you can regulate the temp manually ( turn the thing off).

Hello gents, well this thing is coming together quite well. I'm not worrying too much about going overboard with detail. Like I said it's going to be pretty much an OOB build just to get my eye (and hands) back in. lol
It does go together quite quickly if you don't spend a year on the cockpit etc. So the fuselage halves are now (partly) together. I'll progressively glue the thing as I see fit.
Anyway, some pics.

The cockpit got a pretty standard dry brush and enamel wash. The decals seem a little fragile, one cracked very easy so that's noted for later. I'm pleased enough with the result.

The colour you see there is Tamiya's XF4 Yellow Green which came up as an Interior green used by the Navy at some stage .... good enough for me.

The Avionics panels will be painted out appropriately, adding lots of nice detail. This will be displayed on the ground in the "everything open" position. So they're be lots to look at hopefully. Anyway, thanks for looking. Comments always welcome. [smile]
