Thanks Wim. It was a bit of a battle but we got there in the end. I'm on the phone again but I'm outside feeling pretty chuffed so I thought I'd post.
I'm calling it done!
Everything went pretty smooth today from the enamel wash right up the the final matte coat. I was going to work on the BMW today but it's being a $&@¥ing mole so I spent all day in the cave.
Anything to report? If you look closely in the reveal pics you might see the proximity of the sidewinders to it's neighbours under the wing. Not sure what's going on there.
The rear stabilisers are a pain. They broke in a stiff breeze and had to be re glued several times. So improvement there Hobby Boss. Other than that, and the decals, this is a very good kit I'd build again. No problem. And it looks pretty cool with all the colour.
As I said throughout the WIP this has been a mojo builder for me, having lost the urge to go near the cave a few months ago. It's good to be back.
And thanks for having me in this GB. They're great fun. [smile]

The final result (more progress photos when I get on the laptop tonight, and maybe some reveal photos, if I'm feeling inclined)

ok the final update on this one, we go from finishing the decaling to giving it a wash, oh I did give it a weak filter, by adding a few drops of each main colour to some future and give it a coat. Not sure it did much but it's not supposed to anyway.
Then a wash with Mig productions Neutral enamel wash. I actually hook up my cheap china airbrush and spray it on. Not sure if it makes any difference, just wanted to try it that way. It then got a scrub. I then assembled everything one I thought it was ok, and gave it a matte coat when I was satisfied. Temp is in the mid thirties and very dry so things dried off very quickly. Which was good I could keep moving on it.

Anyway, a few final pics, then off to the reveal thread.
Decaling finished. There was only one! Underneath. I could've replicated some stencilling I guess, but not this build.

weathering wash.

I forgot to take photos, I was already in the clean up stage when I realised. lol

Pretty much built at this point. Weapons on, I think I'm going to have to straighten a few things up on it, looking at the reveal photos. But I'm honestly not that fussed, it's not "that kind of build". I'll have a play with it someday maybe. But I'm ready to get into the F-14 now. This has been a great warm up.

Anyway I'm heading over with some reveal photos now if you'd like to go look. Thanks for following and adding your comments guys, it's much appreciated and good luck with all your builds, I'll continue to follow them with interest. [smile]

Oh look! I have a link!

Thanks Paul, yeah I remember buying the kit because of the colours on the box art.
And every time I saw it in my stash the first word that came to mind was "pretty". lol
