I've never seen a Hurricane in Irish markings, so looking forward to seeing this one.

Going to change the title to "Finder Keepers" (If I could find the edit button!)

HAWKER HURRICANE I (1940-1945). SERIAL NO.: 93. PREVIOUS IDENTITY: P5178. From a batch of forty (P5170-P5209), constructed by the Canadian Car and Foundry Corporation, and delivered to the R.A.F. in 1940. To No. 79 Squadron, 1.9.40. Following the interception of Heinkel He 111Ps of Kampfgeschwader 55 over the Irish Sea, and after shooting down one of the German bombers, this fighter had to crash-land in Co. Wexford due to fuel shortage, 29.9.40. SERVICE HISTORY: To Advanced Training Section, Air Corps Training Schools after being repaired by the Air Corps, 9.5.42. To No. 1 Fighter Squadron, 1943. “Withdrawn from use”, August 1945 and later scrapped.

Started putting the cockpit together and deviated from the instructions by attaching the spars to the lower wing because of warpage, then building up from there.

Not getting huge amounts of time at the bench, just chipping away. Still have to work to do on the decals, seal them, mask the underside for the green, white and orange bands. Going to weather this extensively. Pic shows heavy wearing of the paint on the port wing, no reason to believe the rest of the craft was any less so.
