Postman called today and delivered the following kit, "IBG Scammell Pioneer SV2S Heavy Brakedown Tractor Kit Number 35029".

I have had a quick look through the kit which has 17 runners of plastic in light colour plastic. The parts are very well and cleanly moulded with out any declarable flash to see.

The instruction book is a little gem for reading, and contains a colour call out for four paint manufactures,( Vallejo Model Air, Hataka, Mr Hobby H and Life Colour)

There is a decal sheet printed by "Techmod" and look to be registry, there is a small amount of photo etch (PE) components that will give the kit a depth of detail the model deserves.

I am looking forward too building this out standing kit.

The decal sheet has 4 options to complete the model, it is just a shame that there are not any RAF/British Army decals, as I would like to do a RAF version so if there is any one out there that can steer me in the right direction for the RAF decals that would be great.

Link to the Scalemates database.

For those that Military Vehicle I think it will be a must to add to the list.

Terry.

I'm waiting for Thunders Scammells to see what they are like, particularly the tank transporter and R100 gun tractor. I've seen a review of the IBG Scammell on Youtube and I'm quite impressed. But will wait until both companies models available so I can do a comparison.

I had a closer look last night and the spur's parts,a little closer, and there is a lot off small parts in the kit. The one that caught my eye was on spur "F" part number "25" . As it is about 1.5mm long and 1.0mm wide and less than a 1.0mm in thickness.

Lose that part and I can imagen what the words could be said.

Unfortunately the "Macro" function on my camera will not get close enough to get a good image of the aforementioned part.

Terry.

(note to self when you make this kit do not lose part "F 25".)

You could be right about the Scammell moulds as I read a comment by Thunder that if they had
know IBG were bringing out Scammell models they would not have proceeded with their releases.

Regarding small parts on sprues, I've just finished building the Hobbyboss Vickers Medium Mk II and their were two pieces that fitted on the turret that were smaller than a pin head. At first I wasn't going to bother fitting them as I figured they were bound to the loss, but much to my surprise I managed to fit them.
