The rear lantern was painted exactly the same way as the cart, I refitted the lenses and sprayed some thinned deck tan to take the newness off them

I can't remember why I took this picture lol !
I think it was to try and show the effect of the weathering and graphite on the rail (but who knows for sure)

I sprayed some random blobs of "dust" onto the bucket and added some black paint with a bit of torn up sponge to add a little more visual interest and suggest some spills and stuff (I'm trying to convince myself lol)

The rear lantern has a red led (and boy is it bright) I lost my vision for 10 minutes after looking into it when I fitted the batteries lol !

And it's pretty much finished !

I'll try and take some don't pics later for the reveal section, I was hoping to take them in natural light but the weather here today is atrocious (it would be drier if I'd moved to Atlantis than here)

I'll see how they come out down in the cave and if they are pants I'll wait and see how the weather is tomorrow

Cheers

I have one complaint Pete. That the wheels don't look like they've been running on those rails. They need that same look to them  [wink]

As someone who has worked with big rusty metal objects I must say that is very convincing indeed. All I can think of to improve it would be to actually build up some pigment powders in the corners to give that dust a 3d appeal.

Wow Pete! That is seriously impressive work. The layers you did really make that thing pop. That looks like a rusty mine cart. If not for your bench in the background I would think that was the real 1:1 deal!

I know this is an old(ish) thread but I don't think we posted the new MK2 Indy Mine Cart on display with a 1:6 Indy figure

Cheers Mike, we just did the 10, not sure if we'll do any more, as both me & Pete are all mine carted out at the min.

Next project:
Star Wars moisture evaporator 1:6 is currently on the bench, definitely NO wooden sleepers on this one as I think we both suffered a bit with PTSD (post traumatic sleeper disorder).

Will chuck some WiPs up chaps if your interested
