this is a 12 inch predator figure made by McFarlane toys I think, I did make an attempt to repaint it a long while back, but gave up, and as I'm getting a little frustrated with working with tiny parts on my Messerschmitt
This should be a good antidote to that and a bit of a holiday for my ageing eyesight lol

What he loses in looks he makes up for in size

I had already removed as many parts as I could when i tried to repaint him way back when, he has a shoulder canon

Some trophies

The blades that pop out of his wrist were broken years ago so I will need to make some new ones

He he he he he he

This is the part that covers the blades, I'm wondering if I can blunt down some old scalpel blades and make something work with them

These guys aren't so tough, I decapitated him with my bare hands, he is one ugly melon farmer !

Quick blast of Halfords white primer

The detail shows up a little better now

And he has a little base to stand on too, I will see if I can make something nice out of this

I will airbrush the main colours on and just us a brush for the details, I haven't given much thought to how I want it too look yet, I will try and find some reference pics on the net and with a bit of luck start getting some paint on tomorrow

Nice figure Pete.

Lol it was this or a vinyl caped Jawa

Seriously though, I know these can go for good Money if mint and boxed, (I do have the box) but this one was in a sorry state when I acquired it.
The wrist blades were missing and he was snapped from his base, I've seen a few in the same condition go for around £20 on EBay also the factory paint job was truly and I mean truly shocking, it consisted of thin brown paint that looked like it had been applied by a blind donkey using a paint roller with a blind fold on in the dark, even with my sorry unfinished paint job it was much better than it was.
I've been a collector of this and that in the past and was never afraid of opening the boxes, I liked to have them on show in my cabinet and never worried about value, I'm same with my kits, I have a few that are worth twice what I paid, but I buy to build

I was hoping to make a start today, but there was a late kickoff at Rugby this morning so I'm a bit behind on my plans, I will try and get something done later

You are incapable of doing anything but doing it justice Pete. You are an absolute artist.

Sounds like anything you do to this will be a vast improvement. I'm sure you'll do a great job though. Arnold already turned out great, and now you have even more room to work with [biggrin].

Totally understand about the figure, and you are right.

This is going to be a great painting experience Pete, I look forward to seeing this one.
It's nice to have a break from the styrene kits now and again.

You are very kind Simon, thank you

I have been looking at tons of pics of predators, trying to get an idea of how I want it to look, I think I'm ready to start it now
