Ok I think this is about done for now, I may revisit it after it's attached to the body, but I'll wait and see how it looks

I upped the black spots a little more

Rings on the dreads need a wash but I'll do it at the end when I weather the armour on the body

I just have to do all the skin tones again on the body

Downright amazing. If you keep this up on the rest of the body it will look very nice on your shelf.

That is impressive Pete! Very, very impressive! You are now, NO LONGER ALLOWED to claim you are not good at figure painting. Nigel, back me up on this one!  [biggrin]

Cheers Kenny ! I started the body today, it's a lot harder to paint than the head because of the size.
I can also see a challenging masking session in my future when I do the armour

Thanks Mike

Lol, working on a head this size is much easier than in 1/32, no highlights to worry about and I've been able to airbrush most of it, I still need a lot more practice at painting in smaller scales

Made a start on the body today, it's tricky as it's awkward to hold due to the size, and bits of the armour get in the way, but I can't remove any of it as it's proper fixed on

Base coated the skin areas with a sand and white mix similar to the head and airbrushed away

I painted in the black spots and airbrushed over with clear orange, I could only go to town on the spots on the right arm as the rest of the skin areas have the fabric mesh moulded on and it gets in the way

Tango time !

Then over the orange with tamiya smoke, the effect was a bit light to start with so I added black to the smoke and went over it a few times,I left a hint of orange showing through

Thanks Neil

The mesh is a pain, I did think about carving it off and using a fishnet material to replace it after painting, but the material this is made out of doesn't look like it will sand very well, it's the same kind of plastic that starwars action figures are made of (a bit flexible) so I though better of it lol.
