I finished off the skin areas (except for the feet) and gave all the metal areas a coat of alclad steel, I didn't mask so there is a little bit of overspray here and there, but my thought was it would be quicker to fix that than mask it all up

I need to sit down and think about how I'm going to weather the armour and plasma cannon, but it will end up nice and grimy

Quick pic with the head resting on, and it's looking like a predator again

That definitely looks like a predator. That mesh looks like it's going to be a pain to paint though.

Stunning work Pete. You have skill by the barrel load. Wondering how your putting on the fishnets and cant wait to see the result.

I definitely think the mesh is the weakest point, it's never going to look anything other than painted on lines
Hopefully it won't let the rest of it down

Thanks Simon

I'm just going to have to paint it black, but I'll do it at the very end, if I slip with the brush it will be a nightmare lol

I sprayed alclad pale burnt metal, lightly over the steel to break up the surface and add a bit of interest, it's hard to capture under the light in the cave

It's subtle in real life, but shows better than the I can capture with the camera, should be better in natural light

And with a huge soft brush I drybrushed Vallejo modelair aluminum over all the armour to add texture

Then in mixed a really thin wash the colour of muddy water and sloshed that over all of the armour

I had a quick test paint of the mesh, I think the overall effect when it's all painted in will look ok, but it's going to take an age !
Tomorrow I'm working down in the cellar but I will try and get the alclad overspray sorted and base coat the details

It looks better than I thought it would, the lines are a bit heavy, but it should be alright

All the main colours are on, I need to paint the mesh, then make a couple of wrist blades, and a bit of weathering and it will be finished

Not sure if I should matt down the lion cloth, I wanted a redder colour but I cocked the mix up lol

At the expense of the mancave conversion, I had a marathon paint session and finished the mesh

It's not as neat on the legs as it is on the chest, I slipped a few times, but I was rushing to get it done.

I still have a fair bit of work to do on this, but I'm going to take a break from the bench for a while and concentrate my efforts down in the cellar, I really need a new cave, and it won't build itself lol ! So I'll crack on down there and pick this up again down the line

Cheers
