Whenever I go into hobby lobby prepared to spend money, I always spend more than I planned. The little pallet that I've been using was 10 for $5.99 so I figured why not. Got a few model color paints (almost got 1 of every color that they actually had in stock. shelf was almost picked clean), and got some bags of grass and sand along with a bottle of glue. Should be prepared to at least make the first base now. At least as much of the base as I can make till the treasure chests show up.

Went there at the beginning of my lunch break, and went to the grocery store after that. Terrible mistake going to the grocery store when you're hungry. Got more food than I should have. Surprisingly I didn't get a lot of snacks which is a good thing. Already have plenty of those from the last time I made his mistake.... which happens to have been the last time I went grocery shopping. I am horrible at avoiding going to the grocery store hungry. I am home and possibly done for the day, but I'm still on call so wont be sitting back down at the bench quite yet. Don't want to get some paints mixed, and then have to get up and leave.

Just my luck the local Gamers have no idea what Vallejo is or I'm sure that would be all gone where I found them lol. I'll have to check out their "Game Air" paints for you guys when I can get one or two. I'm curious to know how they differ from Model Air or Model Color.

I do the same thing when I'm hungry. I don't normally think of shopping til I'm hungry and nothing looks good in the fridge lol.

I've seen online where there are people that prefer vallejo game air to citadel paints. Think it's supposed to be similar to the model air, but more focusing on the colors for table top games. Then model color is their something for everyone range I believe, but it's not thinned nearly as much as their air paints. I think the only reason that the model color paints were picked clean, was because the hobby lobby by me doesn't try very hard to keep them in stock. Their much larger rack of testors and model masters paints was freshly stocked in comparison. Though I think I did see that they were starting to carry the vallejo weathering sets. Was already spending more than I wanted to so I didn't really look too close at that.

Yeah most of the time it seems I go to the grocery store when I'm hungry. Most of the time it's on my way home from work, which on days like today I'm lucky and it's around lunch time, and other times it's towards the end of the day where I'm hungry for some dinner. Usually too lazy, or too wrapped up with something else to go to the grocery store over the weekend. Though it seems to be easier to get in and out of the grocery store fast on a weekday.

Yeah I noticed that Michael's has a really good supply of the new Testors weathering products and washes. Since I've been making my own I haven't really shown them much interest. Maybe they'll make things easier, but I am in need of more white artist's acrylic paint. Mixing up my own colors usually depletes the tubes of white faster than any other color.

With figures I tend to do the same thing for washes and whatnot. I don't mix washes (unless it's 2 different color washes) for models. The flory washes have been really nice to use the last few times I've used them.

Speaking of white, I should probably add that to my next order of paints. Current pot is starting to run low. Been using it a lot in my mixes for figures, and used a lot on the phantom too. Should have enough for what I've got started currently, and I did include some in my order of citadel paints. Though I'm using those paints sparingly. Trying to make them last since they cost $4 a pot, so don't really want to try to use them for any any spraying on planes and whatnot. Bought them with the plan to mainly use them for figure painting.

Ended up not getting anything done on the figure today. Had a decent spark of motivation to actually clean today, so I figured I wouldn't put that to waste. Got some of the cleaning out of the way, so that I should hopefully have more time on the bench next week. I've got a busy day at work tomorrow (everyone decided to call in after 4:30 when I wouldn't be able to get out there the same day), so hopefully I can get some bench time in tomorrow despite the busy workload.

Got my new brushes in today. The insane detail and the psycho make the 10/0 brush I was using look downright huge. Should make things much easier on 28mm figures.

edit: took a picture of them next to the 10/0 brush. Details should be much easier now.

Thanks pete. Haven't really gotten much done since my last update. Either been too tired after a long day at work, or been distracted by cleaning or other stuff. Got the treasure chests in yesterday. They are a little larger than I thought they were going to be, but I should be able to make one work. Going to try and finish up the cleaning I have to do around the house this weekend, so that I might be able to get a little time on the bench this next week. Hopefully I don't get as distracted tomorrow as I did today. It was 8pm before I even realized it, and didn't get much done at all.
