"Spectral chrome" ?!?!?

isn't this in the same range as the stripey paints
?
seriously, "Spectral chrome", please explain...

I'm hoping to get the whole shebang finished tomorrow but I think the base will take a while because of drying times

It's Alclad holographic spectral chrome ( I'm not making this up ) it goes all of the colours of the spectrum as the angle you view it at changes

It needs to go over a high gloss black base coat to get the best effect but I used it over white on my 1/6 scale jet bike amd it looks like pearl

On the last one of these that I built I just sprayed clear blue over the lights that go around the hull and they looked a bit dark so this time I sprayed the backs with zero pearl white

This made them much brighter after the clear blue went on

I'll give them a quick dunk in klear before I glue them in

Daisy got a quick blast of primer

And a quick dry-fit looksee type thing

So that's as far as I've got today, I'm hoping to get the saucer finished in the morning and then I need to make some giblets so they can be stilling out of the cow.

Fingers crossed I can get the base knocked up in the afternoon

Alclad holomatic spectral chrome, it's really clever stuff I'm just slinging it on here for the sake of time, but it really needs a super smooth black surface to get the full effect

You can find it in any hobby shop, it's normally right next to the buckets of blue steam and sky hooks

It's good to view the world through a kaleidoscope. All I need now is for everything I touch to turn into skittles and my life will be perfect

Hehehe I have had this idea in my mind for a long time but I had much bigger plans so I'm not going to permanently fix anything to the base and them maybe down the road I can revisit it
