This is my Betty, the Mitsubishi G4M1 model 11, together with the Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka in scale 1/48. I doe realise that the model 11 never carried the Ohka, but just imagine that a model 22 is standing right next to it ;-).

For the Betty I used the Tamiya kit number 110. It’s a reboxing of quite an almost 20 year old kit. I really enjoyed building this kit. The parts are fitting very well and the panel lines are fine and recessed. Only the interior is lacking in details. I added quite some details from scratch but they are almost not visible on the pictures – but hey, I know they are there :-). In addition I used the Eduard interior set and maskings, aftermarket decals from Techmode and resin wheels from True Details. The base for the engine is made from scratch, the resin engine self is from Vector. This is the first time I tried to seriously cut into perfectly fine models and make changes and adding details – and I had a lot of fun doing it.
This is also the first time I used an airbrush and this I like even more :-). I have a lot to learn, but got a good start with this kit. The main colours are from Mr.Hobby, H59 IJN green and H61 IJN grey.

The Ohka is a very nice kit form FineMolds. Perfect details, great fit – pure joy to build. The only thing I added is the belt on de undercarriage and some seatbelts. The little ride and the figures are from a Hasegawa kit and where a fun and easy build.

I think that’s about it. Thanks a lot for all de support, nice comments and the encouragement. I had a blast building this beautiful plane and I hope you like the results of the past few months.

Cheers, Fabian

Some additional pictures of the 2 side projects ;-)

Congratulations on an amazing build Fabian,

It really is a work of art mate and even more amazing given you are still a relative newcomer to the hobby, you clearly have a ton of natural talent and it really is apparent in the wonderful finish you have achieved with this project.

So many techniques used on this and all executed perfectly, you should feel rightly proud of this buddy it's a stunning effort and must surely be in line for a prize

Thank you very much! I'm very happy with the results and appreciate the nice comments. True, I'm still feeling like a youngster between you guys, but this is a great place to learn all the different techniques. Very much like watching Bobby's video builds and try to make something new in each build. I enjoy the friendly and 'sharing attitude' of this forum... you guys make it very easy for me to put my work out there and giving me a lot of motivation to try just that little bit harder to make a nice model. Already looking forward to the next GB... Sci-Fi, right ;-). I don't mind waiting an extra month, already started a small 1/72 build, nice and easy, without a dio :-)

Nice work Fabian, it turned out brilliantly. Your scratch building on this one went to the next level mate. Keep it up.
An enjoyable WIP to follow. Good luck! [smile]

Fabian,

A beautiful Betty and scenario. Sense of detail is great, and i specially like the constant neat building, painting and decal setting.

Pics are great too, the best way to show the achieved work is to take best pics as possible can be. Done mate !

I wish you good luck [wink]

Thank you very much Laurent! I'm very happy with the result but still so much to learn. I'm very impressed by your painting skills and enjoying your WIP a lot. Thanks for sharing mate. And good luck with the finish :-)
