I decided to build a kit that I had in my stash for about 20 years or more.  This kit is an old Monogram kit and I thought it would be a challenge to build because of the age (possibly warped parts), and that it has raised panel lines.  I decided I did not want to sand and re-scribe the whole model because in my research, I found that B-25's actually had panels that overlapped and were raised.  This did not make sanding easy although I learned a new technique using Mr Surfacer and tape to create raised panel lines after sanding.  It came out OK, but I think I could do better.  I added Eduard's detail set which added alot although you cannot see much in the cockpit.  I also added Quickboost gun barrels which for a model with so many of them like this really was a necessity.  (Love the tough looking nose of this strafer [biggrin]

For paint I used Vallejo neutral grey and Olive Drab.  I preshaded and used bleaching techniques I used by watching Bobby's videos.  ( I have learned SOOOO much!)  I then used Mig Ammo panel line washes and homemade oil and spirits washes for staining and weathering.  The decals were a bit of a challenge especially the nose art.  Those huge decals on the sides were a b*tch!

This was my first ever attempt at a diorama so I went on the simple side and built one that I can use for future projects.  I added a Jeep and a couple figures just to add to the scene.  The Jeep was really a fun little build in itself and I used similar weathering and painting techniques on it.

This was my first group build and really a joy. I would not have pulled a WW2 bomber out and built it if not for you guys and Genessis Models.  Can't wait to see what the next one will be and what fantastic models you guys will turn in also.  [cool]

Looks great mate, that nose art! Turned out brilliantly.
Overall a very pleasing result considering the age of the kit. Great job. That jeep looks cute too.
Welcome to the finish line. [smile]
