Now you're talking Ken ! What a great kit, you have got a lovely gloss finish on the red, I really can't wait to see this one unfold (I love the Monkees !)
And is that a Batmobile body shell I spy in the background ?

Nana nana nana nana BATMAN ! Kapow, Kerzowie, Blam ! The 60s Batman was the shiznit !
You really should set your mancave at an angle when you build it, to get the full super villain lair experience !

Apologies for my post I've been spraying with the window shut again

I have a car kit in my stash and I plan to toss it in with another build some day just for fun. I built a lot of car model when I was a teen. GREAT start Kenny--I actually saw that same kit at the hobby shop the other day. The Monkees were cool and back then many of the groups had their own "car" custom built/modified.Batmobile? oh YEAH! enjoy!!

Hi all here is an update on yet another kit I seem to be unable to do a decent job of.

the decal is too big its supposed to fit inside the door and its supposed to say The Monkees not just Monkees, oh and its supposed to be yellow not gold.
none of the engine parts fit correctly there is no radiator or hoses for the engine.
if I cant build a decent model soon I think I will give up altogether.

Don't give up Ken ! Everything looks fine so far, if you hadn't pointed out that the decal only said Monkees nobody would have noticed, these old kits are a bit of a pain to work with, but you have always produced a great result with your other builds so I'm sure you can wrestle this into submission !
I enjoy following your progress builds so please don't lose heart with this one, maybe treat yourself to a Tamiya kit for a quick mojo restorer and finishing that might fire up your enthusiasm for this one

Hi all think I was having a bit of a wobble there, thanks pete ( its not actually my fault the decal is too big or bits dont fit anyway)
anyway here is tonights update, been collecting bits for the dio for it can you guess what these will be used for.

thought I had got over the engine problems but as you can see the chassis is where it should be but the engine must be at least 10 mm out I have to fit the blower on there, dont know how to get round this one whether to hack the chassis about or try and move the engine forward some how.

Big decal or not that looks great, the colour of the upholstery in the interior really pops against the red ! That engine does look like it needs to move forward , what work will be needed to do that Ken, is it just a matter of gluing further up and extending the driveshaft or is there a lot more involved ?

And those bits and bobs you are collecting wouldn't be something for Mr Dolenz would they ?

I may have to chop the engine mounts about, I can't chop the chassis about as that would alter where the wheels would fit.

how about cutting the engine surround/hood/bonnet? and turning it around? looks like with the open end against the firewall it might just fit
   good luck, Dave

Hey hey.....good model, nice body finish.

Of course if you get anything wrong you can always ask Mike Nesmith's mother to lend you some Tippex. After all Bette invented the stuff.

That's an interesting fact she must have made a fair bit of money out of that everyone's heard of that, and probably used it.
