Hi Frederick....good question. What is a S.I.G. ?

It stands for Special Interest Group.

It is a special Group Build, between other modellers, on a particular theme that's run my members and not Genessis Models . If members decide they want to do a competion for just Mig builds, for example, then you can ask to run one within the Forum. At the moment there would be no prizes, but in the future some SIG's might be able to get sponsorship backing from outside companies, but this would have to be carefully looked at.

I've decided to do this one to see how this works with members of the Forum, so feedback is most important, only I've added a twist where I have donated models from my extended stash for them to build...of course they get to keep the model.

This is more of a battle of the Titans....

Hope this answers your question. I'm sure more will be talked about this addition to the Forum as it develops.

Enjoy the battle....

Special Interest Group.......I think? At first I had no idea what it meant myself. BTW--no inquiries here are "bad". Its taken me almost 2 years to learn simple things about the language of scale modeling. bring on the questions. And.....you can always private message a member by clicking on their profile name and sending the question thorough the system---totally anonymous!

okay---so Nigel already answered the question!!! D O H

sorry Fred, I should have read past your original question in the thread before answering the question about SIG. I would have seen Nigel's post and not wasted everyone's time with my duplicate answer. in regards to a "private message", they don't show in threads--makes them handy for asking delicate questions and avoiding embarrassment if needed. cheers! I just sent you one!

Thanks for the PM Mike.

The reason I wanted to do this, well one of the many reasons, is to bring it to the attention of those that have never heard of a SIG.
What makes this a bit different is the twist I've added to it, plus with just 3 involved it's more controllable.

Although they don't win anything they have already won the model I have sent them....only they've got to build it now...in a contest.

Just want our American members know the word "fag" has a completely different meaning in the UK than in the US. I don't want you getting the wrong idea about me lol
