hi guys,

So, the Harley is finished. Not happy about the figure but painting faces/flesh has never been my favorite part of modeling.

In the next few days I'll start with collecting stuff for the diorama. Stuff like wall, base, accessories and setup the composition.

Cheers!

Here are some pics of start of building the dio. Just to give an idea of the composition. And started the base and walls. Walls are resin btw. Frame is standard picture frame which you can get at Ikea or any other furniture store.

Hi guys, I made some progress on the wall.
I started with adding some clay on the back side since there wasn't any detail. Though you probably won't see a lot of the back I decided to try an add some plaster like feeling. Hope it works out.
Next I start painting. The front was done by using the wet on wet technique so to get some different colours. Followed by painting the stones with different tones.
The back was done by using the chipping technique.
Last step until now was a filter and wash on the front to blend all the colours.

Still some steps to do like streaking, maybe some dry brushing and adding some earth and moisture effect.

So, the wall is attached to the base.
For the ground I used clay. Where the wall is set I gave it some height. After that I applied AK Terrains acrylic paste for the initial ground colors. Added some stones and gravel and already some dirt which I mixed into the paste.
Next step is using some earth colors to blend in the road and shoulder.

So, the next step in the dio is doing the scenery stuff. I always think this part of building a dio can break it or make it. Hope for the latter.

First step is actually buying some nice scenery. Bought this online and last weekend at the Scale Model Challenge in Veldhoven, NL.

Then first step with the tufts.
Don't mind the PVA glue bits 😉 Still drying.

Then added the first weeds and such more.

And to give you guys an idea of the size of the flowers.

Its a slow progress but so far I like where its going. Next step is finishing the roadsign and there is going to be a tree behind the wall. That will be another first for me so I hope it going to look OK.
