Looking very nice there fabian. I hear ya on wanting to start on the group build already. Running into the same trouble myself lol. Nice extras you got there as well. I actually got that same exact figure kit for my p-47. Only painted one of them myself so far, but the detail is really nice on them so they should look great with some paint on them.

Thanks! Never did a diorama but I'm happy to give it a shot :-). Yeah Kenny, I definitely hear you. Maybe if I start just a little on my Betty... ;-). Just looked your figure GB up: turned out great! If I can manage to achieve half the result I'm one happy builder :-). And they do have nice details. Only the package looks a little cheap. But hoe cares about that... (really like nice boxes, hehe)

Just a small update. it's quite busy at work, so haven't a lot of building time. Finished sanding and filling and glued the clear parts in place - ready for painting some nice black :-).

I also started working on a little base. Painted it in a light brown and applied the magic metal powder - works nice and easy without masking. Will try some different colored washes later. As you can see I'm also enjoying playing with the figures :-). Maybe a car or something is missing. Don't know yet exactly where I go from here. Will finish the plane first, enough time to think about it ;-)

Looking great Fabian. The thing with the dio is you can always add things to it later as it inspires you.
Fantastic job mate, those engines look wicked in situ too. [smile]

Those figures really give a sense of scale to the model Fabian, and as Simon mentioned, a project can always be revisited, to add something new or just to embellish it a little bit

Fabian, his is looking great! I must admit I look forward to your updates. Not only is the P-61 one of the more interesting, and less well known planes out there, but you are going a great job with this kit. I look forward to your progress.

Thank you very much Seth for the kind words :-). I like the P-61 very much and the kit is a treat. I'm busy with painting which is progressing quite slowly. I'm brush painting, so many thin layers paintwork with a lot of drytime between. Maybe I can post a little update on the small diorama later... Thanks for the encouragement!

There's still room for something more on the ground plate - so a bought this little kit by Tamiya

A actually just wanted to have a closer look at the parts and check the fitting of some parts... this is where I went to bed :-)

This kit is great fun. Perfect fit, no filler at all needed and easy to build. If you get stuck in your build this is a nice way to get your mojo flowing again :-). As I said before, progress on the painting is slow but steady. Three layers of satin black are needed to get a nice coverage. Slowly slowly...

Wonder if Tamiya makes one for the German side? I could use one for the bomber I'm building

Yes they do Neil. That's from their new 1/48 line and they have a ton of new stuff in that scale. They have just as much detail as the 1/35 line and they are super easy to build. Fabian is right, they are a joy to build up.  Highly recommended!

Looking good. I just ordered that truck for my bomber. Then I look here and see you got the same thing and built it already. Glad to know it goes together so well.

Thank you very much Seth for your kind words. Hope I don't mess up the paintwork. I discovered that painting an even black isn't that easy :-/. I'm actually trying to save some money to get a nice AB :-)
