No parcel yet mate :-(

I've chews my fingernails down to my knuckles with the anxiety lol and I reckon this will be my first Valium assisted build

I've really tried hard to think what it might be but other than scale I have no idea lol, I'm sure it will be fun whatever it may be and I'm looking forward to the challenge

Omg, omg, omg postman has just delivered a parcel and it's from Nigel !

I'm not kidding I'm proper nervous lol, I haven't opened it yet as I'm waiting for Lisa to get home so she can take som pictures of me doing it

It's a fair sized package though, so whatever is in there could well contain a lot of parts

As soon as Lisa gets back I'll take some pics and get them uploaded

Right then, before I start there are a few things I want to get out of the way.

Firstly I have no idea who that old geezer is in the pics as it was definitley me that opened the package.

my best guess is that the problems that Photobucket has been having lately have led to an unknown old fart getting mixed into my images. ( I do look rough lol but in my defence I haven't been too well the past week or so )

secondly,

Lisa went a bit mad taking the pics but as she has gone to the trouble of taking them for me I'm going to post them up

And lastly ,

I'm sorry for my gnarly hands, it wasn't until I saw these pics that I realised how shocking they are beginning to look. I'm afraid that my arthritis is really beginning to step up its game and alas I'm certain that my days of working with any dexterity will come to an end a bit more prematurely than I would like.

But thems the breaks and I'm not going to worry about it too much until I have to. When life gives you lemons make a jack and Coke do the Great Britsh thing and keep a stiff upper lip dear boy and make hay while the sun shines

Enough waffle, here's the pics

At this point my heart is beating fast lol

It feels a bit like Christmas ! Although I should have waited and opened it on Thursday ( it will be nearly half a century since I hatched on that day)

Lisa had no clue what I was going on about as I was shouting "it's a wingnut wings, it's a wingnut wings)

I'm so excited as I have always wanted to do one of these, but my eyes are just connecting with my and brain is registering the picture.
Suddenly I realise something

"That looks like a lot of rigging"

What a fantastic kit

I was literally watching that as live as you could make it.

Happy Christmas...Birthday...SIG Day....Easter (sorry no egg!).

Lisa...thank you for being such a good sport...this guy deserves this little (!) Gem.

Ps. Due to your arthritis I sent you the larger model...and then completely forgot about the rigging.

...err, can Lisa sew?...just a thought !

The stage is now yours.

Good luck.

So there we are at last I'm put out of my misery and now know what challenge lies ahead.

I was going to send you a private message Nigel but have decided to post it here.

I want to thank you for gifting such a generous kit, I have to say my first thought was to contact you and say that it's too much. But i know you won't take it back so there's not a lot of point in doing that lol.

What I will say is that I promise that I the build I am currently working on ( different forum ) will go on hold so that I can give my undivided attention to this wonderful model.

I'm guessing that the aftermarket you mentioned was needed to complete one of the kits is for this one ? (Rigging wire) man I've not rigged anything in my life before lol (I'm guessing this is the challenge )

I will have a look through the instructions tonight to see what's needed and I will get everyhting ordered. Timing is very handy as I have made a few quid helping my neighbour with his windows so I can load up on the supplies for this one.

I won't start this until Ted has recieved his kit and we are all ready to go.

Thanks ever so much Nigel, I truly do appreciate what you have done mate and hope I can do this kit justice.

Also Miss Mop will be staying in their current paint jobs but I will be making a base for them and have earmarked the kinetic Tracker that I won in the bomber grou build to go with them as its in the same scale (1/48)

I feel very blessed today

Peter, you are more than welcome.

I've given Ted so many clues that if he hasn't already guessed what it is I would be very suprised. We actually spoke about it at some length within another Topic ages ago.

One of your clues was of course the white gloves...I made a big reference about that in the review I did on the kit.

Now all I'm waiting for is the US mail....can't remember if I used Wells Fargo, or Pony Express.

I missed these posts, I think we must have been posting in tandem lol

She is a good sport and must have the patience of a saint to be able to put up with me.
