About building at own pace, what timing do you have in mind Nigel? Of course we wait patiently on the US pony express first, but I guess it's good to have a timeframe?

And i forgot, great pictures Pete :-)

That's it mate, although I may roam around the forums a bit this place will always be home

I actually just now looked this thread for the first time in a while...WINGNUTS! YAY! great kit---their stuff is top shelf all the way. I am now subscribed to the thread as I should've been all along. Great pictures of you Pete---seriously.

As for guessing what I have coming---well, its the 1/25th scale?

but beyond that I have not spent a lot of time cracking the clues.

Or I simply forgot what I have read---by the way, who am I?

seriously, seems like it would be a car or figure???

besides, the "SURPRISE" is such a big part of the whole SIG thing IMHO.

Yes mate I'm really looking forward to the challenge of this kit. And it's a subject that I have never tried before so it will give me a chance to try some new things I think.

The rigging is going to be a bit of a mission I'm sure lol, but if I take my time I should be ok.

I really hope your kit turns up soon Ted

It really did look like christmas came very early for you this year (unless it was just late from last year). Looking forward to seeing you tackle this.

Just saying that this Sig is a great idea and i think a lot of mates will follow closely.

Well when  you got an itch, you may as well scratch it [wink]. Though I guess some people give you funny looks if you scratch some itches in public.

Can't wait to get stuck into the build, hopefully Teds kit will arrive soon, although I'm still waiting for a couple of things I need for this kit to arrive through the post so no major rush

Now that Ted has his kit for Nigel's SIG I figured it would be ok to start mine.

A quick box shot

I haven't taken pics of the sprues as Nigel has done a very nice in box review here http://genessis-models.websitetoolbox.com/post/wingnut-wings-amc-dh-2-132-scale-7065777?pid=1285381798

And this covers the contents much better than my dodgy pics ever could

Now, there aren't millions of parts to this kit but it's still reasonably complex and I have never built a biplane before so I'm not planning to veer too far from the instructions on this build ( I usually just treat the manual as a guide and end up doing my own thing)

But the unique structure of this plane means that I could come a cropper very quickly if I get too cocky so I'm not taking any chances.

The build starts with the cockpit and here's all the parts from stage one in the instructions clipped from the sprue

There are some options on how to finish the cockpit ( wood grain or grey) I went with grey ( coward lol ! ) but I will have some wood grain in there.

Shading in black. The rear of the cockpit is masked as it's going to end up aluminium

And then I thought I'd crack on with the seat.

It's made out of wicker like a basket !
