Project 613. Class Whiskey.
Work-horse and mainstay of the USSR post WW2 submarine fleet. The most mass produced series in the Soviet submarine fleet. In total 215 boats have been constructed.
The project has been based on a design of the German submarine XXI series. Boats of the 613th series could reach 18 knots the surface and 13 underwater speed. The first boats still bore artillery arms, but further it has been removed, and remained only torpedos, in 4 forward and 2 aft 533 mm torpedo tubes. Working depth was - 170 m, crash depth - 200 m.
The submarine number 337, is Whiskey V modification (on NATO classification), the modernized sub, without guns, and with upgraded hydroacoustic system and new radar equipment. It is constructed at the the dockyard Lenin's Komsomol, in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, in 1956, in 1997 it is excluded from lists of the fleet. In 1968, in the Sea of Japan, this boat managed to get inside of order of the aircraft carrier Enterpise, surface on periscope depth and photograph the carrier.

I'm little tired of ships for now. Have Tsesarevich and Hiryu in construction now. And Pravda almost finished. Need to do some planes or tanks! [smile]
