Can anyone recommend a correct shade of blue for painting RAF roundels? Tamiya acrylic if possible?

Google search found these forum suggestions from all over: 1. Tamiya 75% Flat Blue (XF-8), 25% Flat Black (XF-1) I [the poster on the forum, not me-Ted] have used that mix and been very happy with the way it turned out. Carl 2. I have found Vallejo Model Color Dark Prussian Blue (899) an exact match for the roundel blue on both Hasegawa and Tamiya decals recently. I messed up decaling and had to touch them up and you cannot see the difference once matt coated. Barry 3. Model Master insignia blue should work. Ron 4. This link blew my mind as to dates and various types of roundels used and which type roundels on different parts of the aircraft! OMG. http://woodair.net/Aviation/roundels/RAF_Roundels.htm Best Wishes!

Cheers Ted.
That link is interesting. You wouldnt think there would be so many variations. Has me wondering if the RAF once had a whole design dept working on them!

Never looked at that info myself. Someone made a career out of aircraft marking designs!

Yeah, sounds like a good job
I have just decided to go with Tamiya flat blue.
This is the first time I've used masks to paint on the aircraft roundels. To be honest, its a bit of a pain in the arse. I hope the results will be worth it in the end
What you working on at the moment Ted?
I'm doin 1:48 airfix hurricane mk I.
