Hi there

I’m here to announce that Genessis Models will be getting its own business premises in the Stourbridge high street in the very near future.

At the new premises we will be more than happy for anyone to visit, and say hello plus ask about any questions about modelling, but we will also be offering for you to rent a workstation which will be good for all you modellers out there that don’t have the space you would like to do all you’re modelling or you just want that modelling atmosphere.

We will be providing you with storage for all your gear.

Tea and coffee

Work station

A social modelling atmosphere

Me myself at hand to help you with your builds

Airbrushing stations

I am also looking to have a members paint rack to have all the paints you need at hand

the normal website subscription included

There will be a silver and gold membership (prices to be announced later)

We are looking to be open from Monday to Saturday at 12:00 to 18:00.

This is where I would like feedback and ideas from all of you,,, like opening times, prices and to also get an idea on how many of you would be willing to rent a station plus anything else you can think of.

All comments welcome

Thank you Bob

Does this mean that you are moving your personal work bench to that location also?

Great Idea . . . there are plenty of modellers that do not have the space where they live. Obviously your net will be cast locally. Good Luck with it.

Have you considered carrying a stock of essentials such as sanding sticks and tamiya extra thin cement people could purchase from you at the workshop? It's a bit too far to come and rent a work station but when I'm next up that way working I will pop in and say hi

Interesting new venture. Once it's up and running I'd be up for making the short drive up on the odd occasion.

For the genessis models community as a whole, this may be a rather isolating thing. So it may be wise to start targeting a broader audience in the local areas, getting local clubs and schools involved. Maybe even hosting birthday parties. I know sewing, craft and pottery parties have been very popular among the 8-14 demographic. You have a good knowledge of Games Workshop products, you could have regular table top gaming/figure painting events.

Anyway, hope it goes well. I will definitely be getting involved.

Craft parties is a great idea!

Airfix held a few kids events in the raf museum hendon where they supplied ww1 aircraft kits and helped the kids build and paint them, seemed very popular so much so we couldn't get the kids in.

Brilliant!!!

I'm only in Tamworth so that's great for me.

Are you stocking up on kits etc?

How about 1 to 1 tuition? I'd be up for that[thumb]

Great Idea, I wish I lived in the area. Just getting back into modeling after 30 plus years absence. Haven't things changed. Have you thought about putting your videos into DVD, maybe list the kit used in the build. I have seen other build videos but yours are fantastic, great structure and content.
