Hello everyone!

This will be my first group build and I had hard time deciding between a Corsair and a B-25J Mitchell. Now, of course the Mitchell isn't an carrier based aircraft, but since it did launch from an aircraft carrier in the Doolittle raid during WWII, I figured it qualified, yes?

Considering I've just gotten back into the hobby I decided on the Corsair first as a primer for the B-25J. Both kits are amazing and I'm really looking forward to building them.

Awesome! Another Corsair!

I built 6 of the Revell Kits when I was in High School and hung them from my bedroom Ceiling ! I was into the TV show Black Sheep Squadron! Couldn't get enough! LOL

Welcome to the Build and Good Luck!

Dave

This is great David! I too, love the Corsair and always have. I am guessing that this is part of the newer 1/32 moldings that Monogram [Germany] is putting out? Not sure. I understand they are a real upgrade to older Monogram kits that where around "back in the day". I hope you enjoy building and finishing the kit.

I remember that show as well and I'm thinking about picking it up on DVD. They just don't make TV like that anymore.

I believe it is, it is from Revell Germany, but I'm not up to speed on a lot of the re-tooling of older kits. I do have a Revell Germany Voyager (Star Trek) and Enterprise from TOS and both those kits are amazing. I'm really looking forward to building those down the road.

Since this Corsair kit is large enough, I"m going to be adding some lighting to give it a little more life. [smile]

The Doolittle raider was going to be my first choice too but I couldn't get hold of one. There is a new one coming out soon though but I can't remember the manufacturer.

That's it... Hobbyboss. https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AC12302

you should be aware though, the B25-J was a good bit different from the B25-B used in the Doolittle raid.

Nice to see another 1/32 scale bird in the group build.

I too had a thought to doing a Doolittle raider but mine is a "J" and as Paul mentioned there is quite a lo of noticeable differences.

Looking foward to this and Good luck mate

A 1/32 with lighting? sounds great. I also have an interest in Sci-Fi, especially Star Trek. I built a few back in the day, but so MUCH more available now--and better quality of course.

That is a classic good kit and Verlinden did make a resin cockpit for it back in day.
