Do you think you will need any more AM products? (Engine burners etc)..or are the box parts okay.

Thanks Nigel,

I'm not planning to use anything other than the seats as I think the cockpit will be ok with the pilots in and the lid closed.

The burners aren't too bad and I think they will be fine with some creative use of the Alclad (is that hooves I can hear lol) overall the detail isn't too bad other than a little bit soft in places.

The intakes aren't great mind (on account of them being nonexistent lol) but I'll see if anything can be done when I get to them

I didn't get a lot of time over the weekend to get much done (unforeseen circumstances again)

But I've sneaked off from working on Lisa's dressing room and made some progress

Seats are done,

I didn't go mad with them as not a lot will be seen once the pilots go in

The head boxes got the most attention and I dressed them up with some placards from the spares box

I didn't do anything to the backs as it will be invisible in the cockpit.
I did shorten the pipes on the head box as I am going to add ribbed hoses (this is part of the ventilation or heating system I think

Pilots have been primed in halford a white ready for painting

Front instrument panel is finished (the dials and display have got a coat of clear on them and look very shiny in the pics) it was a real test of patience to paint the dials and I had to stay away from the coffee to ensure a steady hand lol

Rear panel still needs the dials glossing

The decals for the map displays aren't great but I need them as this jet needs to be powered up for the in flight display idea

I have filled in the moving map display with a big dollop of PVA, when this is dry I will gloss the dials

That's an amazing result on the control panels Pete...wonderful detail. I can see why you don't want to move from this scale.
You will be okay on the side buttons mate, it's when you get down to 1/144 scale that the shaking in your hands take over, not to mention the holding of your breath...mind you one good cough and the raised buttons are painted in one go [rofl]

It is a nice scale for detail, I haven't built a plane in a smaller scale for years I love it

I have mate, it looks amazing ! I would love to have one but i think it's a bit pricey at the moment (maybe Santa will take pity lol) I wish now I hadn't used the money I got for Christmas to buy the big B-29, I would prefer a Tamiya Mossie

I got the side consoles done, it wasn't too bad in the end.

I used a combination of a tiny brush and a toothpick, then gave it a wash to highlight the panels
