Hello Guys,

After a lot of indecision I've finally plumped for this to be my next build.
20191213_145939.jpg
It's been in the stash for a while and I've been looking forward to building it up but kept being distracted by other kits.
So now that my Group Build entries are done I'm going to get stuck into this very nice kit [biggrin]

So whats in the box?

20191217_101743.jpg  It has the old style Revell instructions, looking through them they are pretty straight forward apart from being a little cluttered in places. Also the colour call outs are for Revell paints only and the schemes are pictured in black and white [rolleyes], still I'm sure I'll cope.

There are two identical spires containing the wings, I cut them I'm half to help with lack of space on the bench.

There is a nice level of detail on some parts. 20191217_101628.jpg I thought the control panel looked nice, I'll probably drill the dials out and replace them with some thin styrene sheet with the decals on as per Bobbys Mosquito build.

The undercarriage legs have the brake lines moulded on which I think is a nice touch too.
Some parts aren't as good though, the machine gun barrels and wheels are a bit lacking plus the propellers should be the wider paddle type. I will replace the guns and propellers with ultracast resin examples, unfortunately I can only find Eduard wheels which don't look weighted so I may just go with the kit ones.
20191217_101809.jpg  finally the decals, there are two schemes, I'm not sure with which to go with I will decide nearer the end of the build.
I have left the clear parts in the bag to protect them until I am ready for them so will post a pic then.

So this will be my winter build, as I said I'll be using some resin replacement parts also doing a bit of scratch building and will probable rivet a lot of it.
I'm not going  to rush as I want to get things as good as I can so I'll probably get cracking properly after Christmas when I have a bit more time.

Thanks for looking [thumb]

Geoff.

Picked up a copy of this same kit at Telford, so I'll be following this with great interest.  Personally, I really have to go with the octopus scheme, it's just bonkers!

I may also start a Ventura in the near future.  The first release Revell kit #855531 is available in my area and it includes decals for RCAF 149 BR SQN. That would be the version I build.[smile]
