Thanks for the videos Gary. Nice change to loads of type...

Model is looking good and well advanced. Hope the hay fever doesn't get in the way.

Really good colour scheme.
I love cockpits and you've managed to make it busy, but what suprises me is that you have done this in 1/72 scale...amazing.

Great work Gary.

what a beauty! not only the detail but that paint scheme is a real eye popper. can't wait to see the finish!
BTW-really enjoying seeing the videos-short and sweet updates, considering that option for my Phantom build.

Managed to get quiet a bit done over the last few days, after letting the clear coat dry for 24 hours, I started on the decals, they are thin, reasonably satin in finish and for the most part are in register, some of the stencils are legible, others not so, but the worst by a long way were the R's on the intakes, the white border appears to be made up of a series of dots, I will take a fine bruch and diluted white paint and try to improve on these, the nose "Tulip" was a bit of a sod to go on but with plenty of Mr Softener it went down in the end, all the other decals went on without issue. Built up the under carriage and added the wheels etc, I decided that the kit looked a little bare, so I built up the centre line tank and 2 of the weapons pylons, and added the rockets painting them as practice heads.Given a clear gloss coat to seal in the decals, given a wash of Flory Models grime, then Matt coated with Windsor and Newton UV Matt clear. There is still a bit to do but should be wrapped up in a few days or so, here's another Spielberg epic for you all.
Thanks Gary

That does look nice Gary, the decals and wash have really brought the scheme together now ! I think you made the right call on putting on a few missiles too, the phantom is one of those planes that really looks naked without anything under it's wings, another nice video, and very authentic sound effects lol ! I used to live very close to heathrow before moving to middle earth lol, I only hear the sound of hobbits and the occasional Orc these days
