Is there a difference? Is one a better quality than the other?

Believe it's the same company, just their newer kits and reboxes have revell of germany on them. Quality varies from kit to kit. Looking up reviews of the kit you are interested is usually a good idea. Some of the revell of germany kits are reboxed from older revell kits, or even older revell monogram kits in some cases. Wish I had a better answer than that, but the kits I've looked up from revell of germany aren't exactly consistent. Some will have great recessed panel line detail, and fit ok, while some will have raised detail and have some pretty bad fit issues. Though with any of them, with time and patience you can get a great model out of the good or the bad.

Thanks Kenny. I had high hopes that Revell of Germany would be a step up from Revell, but in my heart I suspected that was asking for too much.

Wouldn't dismiss either out of hand. They have had a close relationship for many a year (now owned by Hobbico ) Some of their kits are outstanding and at a very reasonable price too. I thinks sometimes think that because of the price, some associate this with lack of quality, not so. However, because of their heritage, like most manufacturers,  reboxings of the older kits are not up to todays standards. If you have a kit in mind or want to know it's heritage, 5 mins on the net should give you an answer in the form of reviews both build ups and in box. HTH Aidan

Both  Revell America and Revell Germany are owned by Hobbico.
