Hello everyone!

Been a while (..again...). I missed the diorama GB but I've built the dio that I had in mind, will share some pics when I have the time to take some good ones. Seeing all the beautiful entries in this GB, I just couldn't resist to join in. My entry will be this WWI bomber. The kit has some nice details but the fit isn't that great. Lately I've spoiled myself with kits from WnW and G.W.H etc. and this kit is something different, it's time to get fillers and sanders out.

Time for the mandatory sprue shots. I'm sorry about the quality of my photos, unfortunately I started cutting away on the sprues before loading the photos to the computer, so couldn't take any new ones,  promise they will be better along the way.

Got some PE from PART

The build start with some surgery, the instructions ask you to cut out and replace a part of the fuselage. there's also some details that I have to remove to get the PE interior to fit and some nasty ejection pins that will need some attention. Fuselage half before any work.

Will soon be back with some hopefully better pictures of my progress!

Cheers!

Hello Daniel,

I'm so excited to see this great bird building. This is a very delicate project... not already for a beginner like me and my clumsy fingers. PE parts will make it look so more realistic... Very nice you joined the GB. Very happy to meet you (by the way I'm a knew member). Can't wait to see the next posts.

Welcome to the group build, that kit does indeed look like quite a challenge.  You're a braver man than I, my friend!  Good luck with the build, look forward to following this one.

Thanks Fabian! I probably will need a lot of luck, think it will be quite a challenge.

Hello!
Nice to see quite a lot of new members since I last visited the forum. This is the kind of kit that often ends up on my shelf of doom, but I promised myself that I will take it slow, steady and follow it thru to the end.

Hi Steven!

I'm all good! Just the usual struggle to combine work, family and all other stuff and to get some time at the bench.

Glad to see you! Will have a closer look at yours and all the other builds in the GB

Hi guys hope you all have a good weekend! Time for an update on my work this week.
I've removed the interior details and those horrendous ejection pins. Also replaced the panel I talked about in my latest post. PE frame dry fitted, had to remove a fair amount of plastic to make it fit, but hopefully it all will fit now.

20190310_180823.jpg
Rest of the kit parts for the interior, the "tunnel" is an interesting solution so that the rear gunner was able to shoot at fighters attacking from under the plane.

20190310_180945.jpg
Also got all PE parts for the interior ready

20190310_181303.jpg
Next step will be to paint it all and hope it all will fit and I can get the fuselage halves together.

Thanks for looking!

For those of you interested I've uploaded final reveal photos of my latest work that I haven't shared on the forum!
