Thanks guys! Sitting on the train on my way home from work and making plans for tonights session. Will try to replicate wood finish to the interior, hopefully the oil over acrylic technique I'm used to works on 1/72.

Worked fine on the interior of my B-17. Scale should be no problem.

Hey, the wood effect turned out great! And beautiful details, hard to believe that this is 1/72 scale, very nice work.

Thanks Fabian!

Don't think i built a 1/72 since my childhood, I find it quite challenging at least the size of the PE.

Started working on the engines, think the kit parts are beautiful, for the scale at least.

Unfortunately they don't fit very well in the nacelles and when closed up they don't show at all. So decided to leave one engine as is and to display the other one with some panels off.

Cut off the panels and thinned the plastic a bit

While the engine looks really good there are some details missing, so I built a tank with some spare parts and plasticard. Also added frames made from styrene rods

Dry fitted in the nacelle it looks like this

Between drying time for the frame I assembled the machine guns, struggled a fair bit, don't think I will complain about tiny PE parts in 1/48 and 1/32 ever again.

Thanks for looking and happy modelling!!

Some fantastic work there, especially the scratch-building.  Those Parabellums are amazing!

Thanks guys!!

Just a small update, engine painted, weathered and glued in place, also added some internal rigging.

Got some nasty gaps and seamlines to work on next, and then comes the hard task to align the wings, the lower wing consists of a center part, the two engine nacelles and then outer part of the wing, and the upper wing is "only" made up of three parts, and it all need to line up if I want the struts to fit later on...challenging..

Cheers!!

Thanks guys, your kind words sure help to keep the mojo going when I now enter a couple of days of filling and sanding, I have some seams on the fuselage that can't get rid off. Think it's because I had some oil paint that oozed up between the fuselage halves together with melted plastic. I've now tried to apply the famous old styrene goo over the seams, will let that harden properly over a few days before sanding away.
