Thanks guys! Actually, I did build a helo as my first "return to scale modeling" kit. It was a 1/72 cobra. I screwed the canopy with some CA glue I used near it. It went in the bin and I carried on.

true. However, I had just returned to modeling after being away 40+ years and I did not know that rule then. go figure.

I would like to have a helo pilot and mount this bird off the base. Can anyone give me a link to a good site that has that figure in 1/48? I've got jet pilots but not one for a helo. thanks!

I had a look on the Scalemates database and couldn't find any seated heli pilots
but I have the MH-6 STEALTH Academy  1:48 kit which has heli crew 3 or 4 figures,
Ok American but they are quite good figures with separate arms and the kit is cheap too [smile]

I have looked extensively many times and never found Helo pilots in 1/48. There is ONE on the market but he seriously does not look too good, or maybe its a bad picture? Thanks for the referral to that kit! looks like is about $8US.

this guy shows up with each and every search--french helo pilot. does not look impressive to me:

http://www.1001modelkits.com/small-soldiers/27455-pj-productions-481121-french-helicopter-pilot-seated-in-aircraft.html

finally found a better set of images of the french helo pilot in the link above. still not impressed?

http://www.ipmsdeutschland.de/FirstLook/PJ_Productions/PJP_481121_Frz_Heli-Pilot_90er/PJP_481121.html

these guys are from the same company [PJ Productions] and look a bit better?

I have found this image on a page connected with a WIP post, but no details on scale, who makes it, links to the rest of the WIP thread, etc,

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/csago/lowlevelhell-pilot-3vistas.jpg

searched the original photobucket account where the image came from....should have known---its a 1/35 figure:

Off the top of my head try Aerobonus or P J Productions.
Try doing a google search but look at the Images that search result gives, it might lead you further to a lesser known manufacturer.

Thanks Nigel! two of the possibilities above are from P J Productions. The helo with figures that Paul recommended is good possibility also, even though I cannot see the figures for evaluation [would be hard to beat the pricing and I will have a closed canopy anyway--hey, maybe I could print a picture of a helo pilot and glue it to some styrene, then just stick it in the seat? LOL]. I will search for a build log on that helo and perhaps it will show the figures close up. I appreciate you guys chiming in.

this is a nice figure from aerobonus--thanks Nigel!.......... but it would have to be chopped apart and "transformed" into a seated figure. Or I could take a jet fighter pilot from one of my figure sets and switch the head only?
Just looking at all options.

I used one in my Iron Wulf [smile]

the Sprues from the kit with four figures to choose from [smile]
Plus you get an enemy chopper in the same scale with enough figures for two each [biggrin]
could make for a good missile launch diorama seeing as you are going airborne with this anyway [smile]
