MODEL NAME : Sacrifice
SCULPTED BY : Pedro Fernández Ramos
SCALE : 1/16
Available from : Black Sun Miniatures, UK
Packaging is good, with no fuss or instructions...this is all about the figure. Additional items, hair, hands with dagger, and front of robe, come in a plastic zip lock clear bag.
Overall the figure is a great mold with minimal flash...areas that do have flash can be brushed away.
Let's take a closer look.
Detail of the hands is amazing, the mold is very thin and crisp. A quick dry fit (sorry no pic..only have two hands ) tells me there is going to be no fit issues .
Now the main torso and head...
Wow, this is so delicate. It's a fantastic piece of molding. The thickness of the hooded cape is in scale, this going to need very careful handling.
It doesn't come with a stand, although there is a pre-drilled pilot hole for a support pole, but this is no problem as I have a few plinths in my arsenal.
I'm looking forward to painting this model as this is really going to stretch my skills.
I will, at this point, forewarn you that updates will be few and far between (this is not a weekend project), but as always I will take any comments and questions...and I generally answer most of them.
Thank you for looking.

Just for those who have no idea how big 1/16 equates to (Ted ), here is a reference photo of figure with the plinth I shall be using.
If anyone is interested the plinth is resin and available from MDP at http://www.modeldisplayproducts.co.uk for approx £3.
Now my first hurdle is do I use Black or Grey Primer ?

Excellent! Yes, I do like to see a standard object next to a figure as I am not accustomed to the various sizes they come in. Thanks for including that paint bottle in the picture!

How do you know that's a standard bottle...it could be a 3 foot shop display bottle !

Firstly I've put down a base coat of flesh. This will allow me to see any imperfections, trapped dust etc, so I can smooth down before I continue with the layers of shades. It also allows me to see exactly where the shaddows are falling from my light source.
There are quite few areas that certainly need my attention and taking photographs, like this one, allows me to concentrate on those areas.
more to follow when available. ..

Now that I'm happy with the model I have now arranged my wet palette for the next stages.
From now on it is going to be thin washes and highlighting and shaddowing...this is difficult to photograph as I'm shadding whilst paint is wet, if I pick up a camera and take a photo it will be dry...and then she will start to look like a used coffee table.
Thanks for looking
