I saw your post, but since I'm only a figure workshop moderator I have no official capacity to answer that question.

In my opinion however, there are a couple other builds already going on with twin engine fighters that have served in bomber roles.

To be perfectly clear on what Bobby intended, we are not allowed to enter fighter planes with bombs stuck under them.

I think your build is allowable. But understand that it is not up to me.

Steven, hold your horses. I just checked into this plane and it was mainly a fighter-bomber assigned to bomber groups. This is the one that you won off Bobby and he actually mentions on the March show that the reason he is giving away bombers is so that you can join the Group Build.

Personally I think just on that you should be able to enter the GB.

To really settle it there is no harm at all in sending a Private Message to Genessis Models (Bobby) and asking him.

Ps. congrats on winning the model, it looks a beauty. [wink]

I think you should be fine. The JU-88 was designed as a Bomber and slipped into diverse roles during the war, just like my Arado 234.
Congrats on the win too.

And you can always refer to the step by step video Bobby did, although he did the A-4 version there's very little difference.

Good luck with your build and welcome aboard.

I think purely on the fact, as I was lead to believe, that Bobby gave it away as a possible entrant for the GB, all good here.
Welcome to the GB Alba.
If anyone has a serious objection, speak up now I say. [smile]

I'm not the boss either but here is the description of that aircraft's role in the war: "... Like a number of other Luftwaffe bombers, it was used successfully as a bomber, dive bomber, night fighter, torpedo bomber, reconnaissance aircraft, heavy fighter and even, during the closing stages of the conflict in Europe, as a flying bomb......."

IMHO you should be fine

This definitely qualifies for the group build, it's a Ju-88, and was designed as a bomber, the fact it was converted and used in different roles doesn't matter, and as Simon mentioned, Bobby chose this kit as a prize in the competion so that the winner could enter the group build.

So build away mate, I'm looking forward to seeing you get started

Now that is a nice cockpit, great detail. Are you going to use any PE or just straight from the box?
