Good evening Gentlemen
My wife gave me this kit for christmas, I don't like very much jets but this plane is beautiful and the camo pattern is lovely.
Some hints about the kit: Some things well done, other not: ok panels and rivets, the engine air intake and  the nose cone are wrong sized, some errors in the instruction sheet, decals are too thick. I didn't want to spend more for the resin upgrades like the air intakes and nose cone Zactomodels; I only added Eduard interiors photoetches and built the pipeworks  of the landing gears. What is really disappointing are some errors in the moulds resulting in some visible sink marks on fuselage, wings and engines. It's not possible to ignore them, they have to be corrected with a lot of waste of time; ok, that's modelling  but this kit is quite expensive. I can accept it on a cheaper short run kit and I don't live for these challenges, when possible.
Obviously I won't tell anything to my wife.

Box art

Camouflage pattern

some primer

Incollaggio missili, una rottura micidiale

Exhausts and grids ready for airbrush. Here I got to know about metal cotes...tried everything: lacquers, enamels, acrilics

That's all folks, good night

Can't wait to see this progress, that is going to be one BIG model. I really like the Su-27 as well.

I have this kit in 1/48 Academy. I love the design of the aircraft. I will be very interested in your WIP here. wishing you the best with any kit problems.

Good day Gentlemen
Thank you all for your interest
Wheel gears bay installed, the colour should be correct

Test fit: air intakes and fuselage half: air intake have been a grat nuisance because the mould has to be in three pieces resulting with a raised line which crosses the air intake in the middle along several panel lines; all this area has to be filled, sanded,  rescribed and riveted. Fuselage halves go together well.

Wings and fuselage joined, they have to be at the same time, not so difficult, filled seams, sanded and rescribed where needed

Painting exhausts, I'm positively impressed by the Alclad paints

More masking

Exhausts masked, grey primer

correcting issues

gluing belts

MIssiles pylons painted light blue, need to be painted gloss, decals, gloss, weathering, matt......

Preshading downside

topside

Painting camo pattern, preshading almost disappeared

Trasparent and decals

That's all
Cheers
