Just to clarify before I go shopping, "Any SyFy configuration can be built"  IS this anything sci-fi? Movies, Books , games?

I ask because I think the original proposal said "Moves/TV" But the first models I like are from games. So what is the official ruling on stuff like warhammer, warmachine etc?

thanks!

Thats Ok mate

Right chaps I think all my Anime figs are more Comic or fantasy based.

Dark Elf, Catwoman or Mikasa Akerman from Attack on Titan hmmmmm

So I suppose I may have to order something new which is a shame. I may do a quick 40K figure while I am waiting.

Skids,
I think the Super Hero stuff firmly straddles both Sci Fi and Fantasy [smile]
As does a lot of the Manga....

Also, Mythology was the Sci Fi of the ancients and by extension, Fantasy too.
All Sci Fi is fantasy after all [smile]

I think anything that stretches the realms of reality should be included in this
group, especially as we are unlikely to ever have a fantasy figure based GB,
I reckon this is your one chance to include such figures, never gonna
happen in a WW2 Bomber GB for instance [biggrin]

Plus, you doing a Catwoman etc. would spice up the variety really nicely [smile]
Fictional GB's don't come round very often and would be nice for everyone
to make the most of it with the fictional models they really want to do [smile]

I realise Bobby has the last word on this and for you it would be nice to
have his approval but I'd be hard pressed seeing him objecting to you
doing Catwoman, "Sci Fi Fantasy" is a genre category after all [biggrin]

Anyhow, just my pennies worth [wink]

Good explanation Paul.

I have never built a large figure as I am predominately an aircraft modeller with a bit of 40K thrown in. The idea of a large resin figure has always been something I have wanted to try.

I would do a Star Wars kit bit I am off with it after seeing the last film, so no enthusiasm for that.

Will wait for a verdict.

Thanks
Simon

Hey Simon,
just to recap Nigel's suggestion that won the GB polling [wink]

--------------------------------------------------------
""Anything that has appeared in a SciFi film or TV series, any scale.
Figures, vehicles, Spaceships, boats, dioramas.

Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr Who, Stargate, Battlestar Galctica, Red Dwarf,
Alien, Terminator, Thunderbirds, Lost in Space, Batman, Spiderman,
Superman (one for you Bobby), Back to the Future, Firefly,
Transformers, X Men....just a sample of ideas....""
---------------------------------------------------------

You are good to go [thumb] [biggrin]

I think fantasy sits quite comfortably under the umbrella of Science fiction. Lord of the rings, the Hobbit, characters and vehicles from comic books like Iron Man, the avengers
Judge dredd etc and these have all been movies too. Likewise I think certain other film and TV genre have got one foot planted in scifi too, like zombie or post apocalyptic

Also I think that the rules could allow for "inspired by" type builds. You could have some post apocalyptic "Mad Max" type vehicles and figures as plenty of car and truck kits available that just need a bit of kit bashing and imagination to fit the look ( think machine guns, armour plate, dust and rust ) even military models could be converted.

You could have some armour and military figures on a dio fighting zombies, modern era ( the walking dead, 28 days later, Dawn of the dead) or ww2 ( Dead Snow, Outpost, Frankensteins army)

Or add some toy dinosaurs and you can get Into a Jurassic park themed build. Kit bash some tripods and you are on your way to War of the worlds

.. or to sum it up in one word...

Fiction.

..... and imagination

ok two words but yeah, what Pete said [biggrin]

in fact, what Pete said and what I said,
after 5 military aircraft GB's in a row the
chance to play in the realm of imagination
is too good to pass up, if you have a kit
that's a bit border line go for it, not gonna
be too many fictional GB's to be able to
enter such figures and kits etc. [smile]

plus,
more the merrier, for the comradery and the variety  [smile]

Sounds good to me.

I will dig out the Catwoman figure and build it as my 1st entry (as I might do some 40K too)

Get some pictures up as soon as i can

The way things are being categorised this is quite a deep and extensive subject matter.
I therefore want to ask , although I had the original idea, whether you would allow characters from movies such as Jason and the Argonauts, Sinbad the Sailor or are these too much Fantasy and not enough Science/spacey.

The reason I ask is that I am considering, only in the planing stage, to enter a figure of a mythical Siren.

Would appreciate your feedback.

How could anyone say no to such a request ??!!

Fantasy and Sci Fi go together like egg on toast or egg & chips or sausage & eggs [biggrin]

Would love to see some more figures in the GB too [smile]
Now really is your chance to build such a fantasy piece,
rare is the GB that would allow for such a theme, not going to be able to it in the "Big Reds" or what ever it might be called [wink]
