Hehehe I can teach you a few lol, I have heard it said that there are no swear words in the Welsh language I don't know where that came from ! There are plenty they just don't sound as bad as English cuss words and most have more than four letters lol

Weather here today is scorchio ! So I'm alternating between the garden and the cave
I sanded out the last round of filler and it's getting close to seamless inside the intakes now

It all looks and feels smooth enough, but I need to primer now to check

A quick blast reveals a few pin holes but it's not too bad

I'm going to let this dry, and then hopefully just a bit of mr surfacer here and there will be enough, I don't think I can face another fill sand session !

And I'd better tidy my bench up it's a bit of a mess, I don't want to risk knocking anything else over lol

I cleared the decks a bit and put down a clean sheet of white paper, I've been doing this for a little while now and I prefer to my large cutting mat which is getting a bit worn !

The pinholes and defects in the filler have got a bit of mr surfacer, I'm hoping that after sanding this off they will be done !

And I started on the sidewinder pylons and TERs

I hope to get these painted and finished today

I was about to paint the pylons, and thought I had better check the instructions for the etch set, and sure enough there was a few bits to add the missile pylons
A couple need to go on the bottom

A couple of drops of cyno and they are done

The only problem is that they cover the slots that the bomb racks fit to, so I will have to drill and pin them on

There are some small parts that need to go on the ends of the missile rails

It adds a nice little bit of detail to an otherwise plain area

The surfacer on the intakes was dry enough to sand out

I gave then a quick coat of white primer, and while they are not perfect and really could do with another fill, I am going to call them done !

That's great progress Pete, the etch on the pylons looks superb, and 10 out of 10 for perseverance on those intakes mate.

Thanks Gary, yes the intakes were a pain lol, they aren't perfect but the pics of the real ones show that they are far from smooth and seamless, so mine are uber accurate lol ! The etch makes a bit of difference I just pray it stands up to being drilled so I can fit the TERs, how hard would it of been for eduard to put slots in the etch and supply covers if you need them ? Now that the intakes are done things should speed up a bit

That is going to be huge! Way to go for it with modifying those intakes. I bet you will have it sorted out before long.

Thanks mate ! Yes lol, it is a big model I'm going to have to start hanging them from the ceiling lol ! The intakes were hard work but it will be worth it in the end , I really didn't want to have to put covers on them, as I will most likely have the crew in the cockpit and the jet on a base powered up

1st job today was to drill the pylons so I would be able to fit the bomb racks under them, I was worried about drilling through the etch but the bit went through easily

This enabled me to glue hyperdermic needles to support the TERs

I glued them in then clipped them to size with side cutters as this helps avoid bits of super sharp shrapnel flying round the cave lol

I wanted to paint the inside of the sidewinders a dark metal colour, so out with the tape

Then sprayed alclad steel, this will provide a bit of contras when the missiles are fitted, as there is so much white

I made a bit of a schoolboy error here, I had sprayed the pylons white and glossed them ready for decals, but I forgot to put them on, and applied the wash !
