Thanks again,

On another note, I was at a local hobby show this past weekend and on the competition table was an L19 birddog.  I thought of yours and how it's a great looking little plane.

Another update on the painting process, I touched up the camo green and grey and I'm much happier with the look.  I also painted the sky band on the rear fuselage and the yellow on the leading edge of the main wing as can be seen in the photos.  Not in the pics but I also painted the spinner sky and the propeller tips are yellow.

When spraying the sky fuselage band I got a bit of over spray which needs to be cleaned up before a few coats of clear go on and then decals.

Not much of an update today just a few more photos.  Touched up the overspray and finished painting the prop.

So, I think I finished painting this bird last night.  As you can see in the photos, I painted the black "no walk" lines on the wings and I'll add the decals for the lettering.  I also finished painting the little things like the canon tips, gas tank cap and radio antenna but those were done after th pics.  Next will be to put a clear coat on and then on to decals.

This is really getting exciting now, agreed? Clear coat, decals, weathering and it’s the finish line! Congrats

here are two photos of the plane, one before the clear coat and one after.  I was thinking of sanding the surface with 800 or 1000 grit sandpaper before applying another coat.  Has anyone tried this before? recommend it???
