This is my entry in this SIG.

This is also the first time ever i build an Armoured Vehicle. I found this kit in a Hobbystore
marked 50% off. [smile]

The build will be OOB. I will try some modulation effects. There are two versions, the US Vietnam and a German Army, which i dont know at this point to build. Any input from You guys will be highly appreciated. Any Input/ideas/feedback/critiques from anybody, especially the "tank" guys in this Forum
will be a great support.

I apologize for the Pic quality, i am still trying different settings, lightings on my camera. Eventually i will figure it out.

I'm definitely no "tank guy" but I drove the M113 during my military service in Switzerland :-). Will follow with interest!

You'll certainly have plenty of marking options with the M113.

When I was a kid I used to but the Tamiya catalogue every year and I really got inspired looking at the dioramas they would show in there. This kit was one I always wanted but never got.

If I remember correctly this kit was shown as a cutaway in one of catalogues.

Looking forward to this

I started building the interior. Pretty straight forward.

Wheels

I painted the engine block gloss black, the Bottom first with Aks Aluminium and the threaded sheets, i gave a light coat of Mr Model gun metal buffable.

After some research i decided to go with the Sea foam green (Tamiya sky) instead of the white accord. to the instructions. The engine wont be seen after closing the hull, therefore no more detailsadded. i know i am lazy.

The benches were flat. To put a little life in it and represent the cushion i added Mr surfacer.

I painted the inside  with sea foam green and highlighted it a bit by adding some white.

Hopefully everything blends together more with some more weathering and Filters.

I couldn't resist and bought some decals and the Eduards Photoetch set, which is for the Academy Kit but some of the PE will fit. Unfortunately there is no Pic of the PE set. Somehow lost it.

And the transfers applied t the sidewalls of the driver compartement. Also som PE radio, Box

For the Chipping i used AKs chipping Fluid. Was a great Tip from Fabian. Thanks mate.

A little bit of scratch building to bring out the heater.

And mounted to the back of the Engine wall.

Benches installed.

Front Office

Scratch build rack for the Radio

Thanks for looking

Great start Thomas

Plenty of progress mate and it's looking really good. The Buffable metal paint really makes that floor look authentic and already has a slightly worn finish to it.

I really need to get hold of some of that chipoing fluid and give it a try too, the chipping looks amazing is it easy to use ?

And are those dry Transfers you used for the warning placards ?
