Glad you pushed ahead. Looks good from what I can see in the pictures. Your dry panel line technique seems to have worked. You could have taken that black pastel powder and mixed it with water and one drop of liquid soap.
Then you apply it with a big brush—let it dry. Wipe off excess with damp paper towel and moist q tips for tight spots. Use a circular pattern and go across lines, not with them as much as possible. If you wipe the mix out of an area just reapply and start over. Afterwards seal everything with flat/Matt varnish or the acrylic floor product if you have more weathering to do. It’s a sludge wash. Bob demonstrates it on several of his projects.
Enjoy your cruise! I am green with envy. Seriously, hope you have a great time! Cheers

Hi all here is the next update, i was fairly sure I would make a mess of trying to do the exhaust staining with the airbrush so I opted for doing it with a brush, i know it would be better with the ab but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Looks fine to me. You could have also used dark pigment and q-tips. Start with small amount and work your way toward the final desired result. Cheers
