From my short experience using tamiya paints, for my airbrush, (Badger 155-7) I have found about 30% thinner is the magic spot. If I get too much thinner in there I have to be real careful because if I'm not careful with the trigger I can easily get spidering/runs. If I don't get enough thinner it starts splattering

OK a little weathering update.

I wanted to get a coat of clear on before I started fixing the masking problems on the stars, Since I have to let the clear dry overnight I went ahead and started some weathering knowing I could get some of that sealed as well.

I finished up the engine exhaust. I used some MIG pigments to get a rusty, smokey look.

Keep in mind I have no idea what I'm doing here, I'm pretty much winging it, but it's a lot of fun doing so!!

I used some of this AK DAK grime effects to show some engine grime streaking down the engine cowl. I think it looks pretty good.

And finally some scratch effects...remember my torn flag...well it's just been scratched from an over zealous mechanic....[wink]

[006-8]

I still need to do some work on the scratching effect to bring more realism to it, but it shows that it will solve the torn decal problem.

Encountering problems and solving them is perhaps the biggest challenge of this hobby??? Don't know for sure but I create a lot of disasters that I have to extricate myself from. Best wishes as you overcome
difficulties. Keep at it!

I was going to use a picture frame and modify it for display, but I wasn't happy with the selection, so I found this plaque. I'm heading up to the pet store to pick up some aquarium sand. I plan to simulate a Tunisian landing strip on my display stand.

The build is complete, please see my final reveal in the final reveal section.

I used some of the AK interactive africa dust effects and all I have to say that a little bit of that stuff goes a long way. I had to go back several times to keep wiping it away.

It's been great fun, the most fun I've had modelling in a long time.

The enjoyment of building, overcoming challenges, and the completed project. Thats what makes this hobby work. Congratulations on the finish!
